I don't think they look too busy together. But you could use it both ways with the icon and without.

Let's see if I can use them together without looking too busy. It could be you could use the type in this entry alone and then sometimes combine it with the hex icon and type.

I really love this one, and I really love the symbol you have created in the other ones with the ED. Is there any way to somehow incorporate the two in first and second? I love the EADDY with the smile it is super great. And you were right with the baby blue it definitely looks best. The ED logo circle and hexagon you made is making me torn between the EADDY with the smile swoosh and the ED circle/hexagon symbols. Thanks!
