This is my first pass at a logo trying to incorporate the "man" symbol into something fresh, stylish, bold. I used the "D" shape because it sort of conveys drops of liquid, lotion, creams etc. But doing it in a non "Oil of Olay" sort of feminine way. I could try some more along these lines, but just wanted some feedback as to whether this is on the right track or not. I think the packaging design could do a lot for the branding and not just the logo itself. Using flashy bold colorful graphics, along the same vein as the "Axe" products could really help to sell your image as well. Thanks! Wayne
Wayne - good start, please try the words SKIN CARE with a neon effect and thicker/bold font, using a darker green, as well as deep red, cobalt blue, and silver/grey to show variations of the look.
Another variation and suggestion - use the same font look to create a visual of a man's face from the tip of the nose down to his chin, with your DUDE placed where a moustache would be, and SKIN CARE written across under his mouth to align with the jawline. Maybe add some basic stubble that doesn't distract from the wording. And maybe a second variation where the tips of his fingers are at the sides of his face like he's about to rub in aftershave, and so they don't overlap the wording around his mouth.
The whole idea is to not be too cartoonish like our current logo, but at the same time give a visual beyond the fonts used. A color neutral face below the nose creates the universal appeal, like your male arrow symbol.
