#5 and #6. Like #6 better. Not because of colors vs black. Like typeface for DMG better. Like PAINTING, LLC in caps vs lowercase. Work on paint mark. It looks more like a stock market graph vs paint marks left behind by roller. Feather out paint more like what's left behind by a brush. Make it a little longer too. Select another color other than blue. That is ex employers color and he is tired of it. Updated that in contest brief.
Then for a new logo...try same type of look but flip handle up so it's at top and paint at bottom. Almost like its dripping

#7. Drop roller but keep marks made. Expand paint marks to fall behind entire DMG. Change to different color vs blue. For PAINTING LLC don't do a drop shadow and just make solid color. Keep caps.

#8. Like black lettering in this application. Work on size relationship of PAINTING LLC to rest of logo. Getting a little hard to reading a business card. Maybe make letters bold. Keep caps. Client likes roller mark behind DMG. Extend on left a little further so starts before D and P and has a little more showing.

#9 and #10. Client did not like as much as 7 and 8.

Lets skip #6, #57, #59 Client is liking some of your other designs better.

Going to work with #7, #58, #62, #64 in next phase.

Client has expressed he thinks he likes the paint mark being about 1/2 the logo, like #7, now that he has seen them. Can we take #58 and do the same paint mark as #7? He likes the red/black color combo better than red/green.

We will be working with you over the next 2+ days as one of the top 5 designers. Don't know how I am suppose to indicate this. This is different from when I've done before, but I do like narrowing down to the top 5 so less people to deal with.

Going to concentrate on #7, #58. Will clean the board of some other to simplify.

#58 Likes this layout with letters for DMG and layout of PAINTING, LLC. Put 1/2 paint mark behind DMG like #7. He is liking the 1/2 paint mark better but will keep #58 on the board. Once we have that layout for this design settled he would like to see a couple other color combinations. He likes the red/black fine, but just wondering how it may look in a couple other colors with black. We already have blue in #7, so don't use blue, gray or yellow. Open to ideas. Still try green with this layout.

Client likes the paint mark on #80. He likes how it comes down far enough the beginning of the word of PAINTING is all within the mark with the roller right below. Please apply this exact same paint mark to #7 and keep the red/blue. Once we do this the two logos will match.

Now....
He feels the current font for PAINTING LLC seems little formal. I couldn't really get out of him if it was the serif face that seemed formal to him and would sans serif be better. Yet, when I pointed out examples like #101 where the entire PAINTING LLC was within the paint mark, which was black and the outline disappeared, he did seem to like this one a little better.

I don't know if you would prefer to take only one logo (since they are similar except for color) and try a couple different fonts for PAINTING LLC or if you want to do it to both. Please respond with some feedback of how you would like to proceed.

One other comment I forgot. My client had suggested maybe trying a "sky blue" with black with #80. Unfortunately, in my notes I did not clarify if that was a sky blue paint mark with black letters...or...a black paint mark with sky blue letters. Either way I did express my concern that sky blue may appear a little weak, similar to a yellow, so I would suggest if we try this to use the same color blue you did in #7 or a color close to a Pantone Process Blue or Pantone Process Cyan. Something that still has a little strength to it.

I'm sorry Don, I guess I'm not explaining myself well enough. Let's try this from a different approach.
Let's take #80, which my client likes the paint mark left behind the roller and likes that fact the roller extends down past the "P", and let's apply the colors from #7 to it.
I'm going to move #110 to "not interested" because I can't quite tell how it's different from #7 other than PAINTING LLC is white with black outline.
#109 goes back to a previous logo and he already liked your others better.

Oops, sorry. Got designers mixed up. Comments were for your logos, but accidentally said Don.

I have never had any feedback or comments from you, so I guess I don't even know your name anyway.Since we are getting to the end of the contest it would be nice to have some acknowledgement back my direction. I know you have submitted quite a few designs/variations as my client works through what he likes, especially as it relates to colors.

Will you be submitting anything that relates to comment posted at 10:30pm on 12/20? Just checking as I'm in the final hours of receiving anything of major change and continue to coordinate with my client.

Well hi Andy :) nice to finally meet you :)
My client liked #118 the best of your designs so far.
When I compared #7 to #110 and told him the only difference I saw was PAINTING LLC was in gray or white, he said he liked gray in #7 better.
That leads me to believe he would like gray better in #118 also. Once I move you into #1 position for tweaks, can you do that? I assume you get some notification when you are moved into that spot in order to submit revisions. I don't know if that is enough to move up more but can give it a try.
You might also drop the comma and see what that looks like. He has like it dropped out of some other logos.
You have given us a lot of effort. I appreciate it!

Thanks Andy. I have now moved another designer into #1 spot so I can get some tweaks. I am letting revisions sit in "incoming" right now until I get this last one, then I am talking to my client later tonight about tweaks done by 3 designers. Should have a new ranking by night time and we'll see if we have anything left to do. Thanks!
