I put the DG back in here so you can see what I mean. Your company name isn't dependent on the icon alone to spell out the name. They should go together and yet stand on their own. Or you could use both versions if you wanted to.
For what it's worth, I think leaving the DG with the word Consulting works a little better. In logo world, the DG icon should be able to stand on its own and the company name also should be able to stand on its own. It does look a little redundant, but it's more clear.
The letterform and the font is perfect. Let's try writing Consulting & Engineering sentence together with the word solutions under it with lines on the side. Let me see it with the letterform on top and before the sentence.
Eliminate the DG in the sentence, it looks redundant. Try keeping Consulting & Engineering above (togheter) and solutions under maybe with some design lines on the either side of the solution word. Give it a try to see how it looks.
try blue and maybe different tones of gray for the letterform. For the sentence below try making te letter maybe the same size with lines design on the sides or something to make it look better.
