I think this logo is flexible enough for your social media needs such as an avatar or profile picture. Because of its round shape, I think this logo is impressive and not too busy.
And also the elements in the logo also seem solid, a man with a surfboard, an outline of a southern state and also a mountain element according to your brief guide :)

Yeah that's better! Can you stretch the states some and rotate them to get Florida in there as much as possible. I would say rotate to the left some. The states will be diagonal. But that will be ok. Florida is the most recognizable state out of the group I think. Rotate counter-clockwise.

I definitely like the mountains underneath like before. I think having them together in white on the bottom of the snowboard would be best. The outline of what they like like together. And we can eliminate the palm trees.

Maybe an outline of the states in white on the bottom of the board and the palm tree(s) somewhere else?....

I like the palm tree to give indication of the south! What can we incorporate to show the southern states. Is there a way to incorporate the either the outline of the states together or separately? (Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and South Carolina.) Could we try the goggle lenses in white too?
