#261 Hi :) My entry likens a person to a tree with the roots being "deep" and feeding the healthy part up top. It also demonstrates an element of balance. The logo is two colors with no gradients, so it can be screen-printed or embroidered well. I also believe it would work well as a single color logo. If you have any revisions, pleaes just let me know. Thanks for your time & consideration.
what if the tree were more of a pencil drawing (almost like a botanical drawing)
or
what would it look like with light on a darker background.
those two fantasies are probably mutually exclusive.
i like the colors they are hard to discern in the small spaces that i get to see, but they seem to be an aubergine/burgundy purple color with a forest green. of the two, the aubergine is more appealing, but i like them both together.
#279 Here's a single color on a dark (burgundy) background.
I'd say the green is more "earthy" than a forest green...more of a natural, warm element to it.
I'll work up a botanical-style drawing - my only hesitation would be that a sketchy / pencil style may not translate as well for embroidering. (I'm not sure if you're planning on having embroidered logos on shirts/scrubs/etc.?) I've also been keep the colors to a minimum for that same purpose. :) thanks!
as a side note: Do you know Dr. Luke Huber? He & I worked together a while ago together at Arkopharma / Health From The Sun. He's very involved with holistic healing and writes quite a few medical journal articles. Just curious. :)
thank you!! i like it. as i see more of the color, i'm feeling it needs more blue, brown, dark. (I'm imagining a biz card that is all that color...) maybe see what the drawing does. thanks again, josh.
no, i'm not embroidering anything... just web and print.
don't know dr. huber, though 'arkopharma / health from the sun' sounds pretty juicy indeed. i'll have to look it up.
Health From the Sun was actually absorbed into Nutraceuticals. They used to make a lot of different EFA products: flaxseed / flaxseed oils, fish oils, primrose, borage, etc. He was the on-staff homeopathic doctor (He went to Bastyr)
Here's a full color logo with a tree I created in the style of a vintage botanical print. I started with the pencil sketch direction, but it was coming across too bland / flat. I thought the coloring and more technical look could work in your favor - giving it a scientific / clinical edge, but still keep it personal & warm.
I know we discussed this earlier - but if it's become a sticking point - designers can supply a single color alternate file in addition to winning color files. (For #280, the tree graphic would look like the tree in #282)
if there's anything I can help with, please just let me know :) thanks josh
Hi, Thanks for the reminder. I don't have a problem with full color. I'm thinking about things like: do I want a dark background? (Kind of appealing but might be limiting later on.) Do I want something more feminine? more earthy? who are my ideal clients?
Right now they are earthy women, but I'm also going to be doing trainings for physicians, so what would translate?
sorry - was on my tablet just checking in last night or I would've put it up sooner. I kept the text colors the same - there's also #278, which uses the colors of the image. (With 300+ entries I'd think it's pretty overwhelming - I don't know how contest holders choose sometimes! :) )
I'm going to be leaving in a bit, but I'll be back around 1 central time (I'm in northern Illinois). If there are any other variations you'd like to see, please just let me know.
