Thanks so much for your entries. Our panelists liked the fonts, styles, and colors (#39) and the pillars that convey strength and confidence. The pillar is used a lot in our industry, so we would like to see a slightly more modern pillar. The crescent in #39 is less desirable to the circle in #40, though the circle wasn't exactly right for most panelists. Perhaps Pixelated on one side - left to right??
To this point we have selected you as one of the five finalists. To help you shape the designs further, I offer these points about Who we are and what we do:
We are a comprehensive financial planning and asset management firm. The nature of our business is working with real people and real problems to create ways to fulfill their dreams and aspirations. We do this through a process of counsel, guidance, planning, implementing, and supporting. The theme of our business is to build upon traditional and foundational financial planning, savings, and investment concepts (building blocks) through fresh, innovative, and modern methods. We build upon the “old” while utilizing the cutting edge opportunities of today.
Our logo should be secure, confident, and straightforward while connecting the old and the new. Hopefully this will help you in creating and refining the logo designs.
Most of our panelists prefer #38 and #39 but like the color of #39. There is some concern that the blue could get too bright, yet no one wants a a dull blue. We like how you used a fade in with the bright blue and wonder if that could be enhanced. #148 did not resonate with the panel. Most felt it looked too much like a house and had gotten away from the original design of #38. We think #38 and #39 would are great logos to illustrate how our firm builds upon the old while using the opportunity of today. For both logos, we are wondering if you and design a gradient pixelation from left to right. with the solid design in the top left, fading into pixelation in the bottom right. I was envisioning this only with the column icon, but I suppose if cleverly done, they whole logo, including “Davis Financial Management” could be incorporated too. The following link is not the best example, but is gives you the concept of gradient pixelation: http://10steps.sg/photoshop/create-a-face-shattering-effect/
Panelists would like to see some varied designs based on these two logos and we encourage your creativity in offering alternatives.
Thanks for your latest entries! Still focusing on #38. Each logo should tell a story and say something meaningful about our firm, while combining elements that are central to what we do (see previous post). An example might be combining solid and safe with new and innovative. Example: a digitally pixelated (new) column blending into a solid column (old) might well portray this combination. There are other combinations that could be employed as well. Example: http://www.midwestwealthroselle.com/. this is merely an example and not exactly what I am describing - still looking for your creativity. it shows off a modern column-like logo with a graduation. Characteristics such as “people,” “goals or dreams,” or “help” (these are examples only) could all be used to tell a meaningful story about Davis Financial Management.
Option 2 for #38: changing the logo so it appears as a watermark BEHIND Davis Financial Management. Example: http://www.gerrityandco.com/.
In addition to the blue/grey color scheme, please try this option: taupe/ grey/ black/ brown for these concepts.
The contest has been extended one day. Hopefully you can now respond to my previous post and submit revisions. I will check back as frequently as possible over the next 24 hours.
