#25 - Thanks for your input! I like how you incorporated my existing logo into a modernized design. The arrows are a good touch, but I would like to see other concepts in additions to the arrows. I like the additional color other than the standard conservative blue and grey. #24 - I don't care too much for the arrows in this design. #23 - I don't like the font in "Davis." "Davis" seems to be separated too much from "Financial Management." I see you used the tag line - nice thought, but I think it is a too many words in this case. # 20, 21, 22 - I like the cleaner font. I like your designs with a separate logo, not necessarily using "Davis" as the logo at least in these examples.
#20 - Clarification - I actually like how you incorporated DAVIS as the logo in this particular design. Nice and clean. The two tone color looks good, but perhaps some other color options? I'd like to see it with the tag line, to see if it fits nicely. #23 seemed a bit crowded with the tag line, but perhaps it will work with #20. Nice job!
Thanks for all of your entries. Our panel has more deeply reviewed these options. Here is the summary
Overall, nice clean designs and a balanced modern look that appealed to the panel from a stylistic standpoint. Mostly, the color selections were well received. Panelists prefer left to right rather than up and down logos.
#20 #21 #22 - Most panelists weren't inspired by the logo. They didn't mind the DAVIS as the logo but felt these logos were a little boring.
#23 - most panelists didn't like this design's fonts and general style.
#24 - Many panelists liked the concept of this logo and was generally well received, but they felt the arrows resembled more of an ecological theme or a recycle theme. Perhaps arrows could be re-designed to convey upward progress. Panelists also thought that the grey colored arrow would look better next the the blue DAVIS. Right now, the blue arrows are next to the blue DAVIS.
# 43, #25 - Panelists liked the clean look, but a deeper discussion on this logo revealed that most people felt it looked too much like an American political logo or a logo for an American city. The rising sun was a positive but the arrows combined with the sun were not. Since #24 has arrows, could you build off of this concepts and come up with one without the sun or the arrows? No tag line.
#44, #45, #46, #47, #48 - the "odometer" look didn't generate a strong positive response. Panelists thought it looked like a car emblem or insignia
To this point we have selected you as one of the five finalists. To help you shape the designs further, I offer these points about Who we are and what we do:
We are a comprehensive financial planning and asset management firm. The nature of our business is working with real people and real problems to create ways to fulfill their dreams and aspirations. We do this through a process of counsel, guidance, planning, implementing, and supporting. The theme of our business is to build upon traditional and foundational financial planning, savings, and investment concepts (building blocks) through fresh, innovative, and modern methods. We build upon the “old” while utilizing the cutting edge opportunities of today.
Our logo should be secure, confident, and straightforward while connecting the old and the new. Hopefully this will help you in creating and refining the logo designs.
Most of our panelists prefer #56, #129 and #151 but like the color of #56. There is some concern that the blue could get too bright, yet no one wants a a dull blue. The panelists would like to see some varied designs based these three logos. The "D" logo #56 was attractive to our panelists but some saw it as an "arrow" pointing downward and wondered if the "D" could be altered to point upwards (progress, positive direction), as well as thinned out by a small amount. We like how you used a fade in with the bright blue and wonder if that could be enhanced. The "DFM" in #151 appeared to some people as "DEM." We would like to see a modification of this to emphasize the "DFM." #129 is attractive, but can appear as a "hat" when looking at the logo as a whole, We would like to see if there are tweaks to avoid this look. We encourage your creativity in offering alternatives to these three logos.
Focusing in on #54 for now. Each logo should tell a story and say something meaningful about our firm, while combining elements that are central to what we do (see previous post). An example might be combining solid and safe with new and innovative. Example: a digitally pixelated (new) column blending into a solid column (old) might well portray this combination. There are other combinations that could be employed as well. Characteristics such as “people,” “goals or dreams,” or “help” (these are examples only) could all be used to tell a meaningful story about Davis Financial Management.
#54 - Looking for an option using this concept, using the existing D, modified D or another logo based on the above information) and using it as a watermark BEHIND Davis Financial Management. Example: http://www.gerrityandco.com/
In addition to the blue/grey color scheme, please try this option: taupe/ grey/ black/ brown
The contest has been extended one day. Hopefully you can now respond to my previous post and submit revisions. I will check back as frequently as possible over the next 24 hours.
