Carol can you give this design some font changes to see a different look. Keep the Star of David and sword. Maybe manipulate in different ways but some font changes or colors change to make the font pop some more.
I think the Star of David plus cross might be exactly what we need...perhaps a cross that is both sword and cross. Top is cross and bottom is sharp edge of sword. But a plain cross may be just what is needed
So two-three iterations: 1: with current sword inverted; 2: with black sword inverted and at level of lettering; and one with black sword at height of existing sword...hopefully that makes sense
OK - I also like the lion image - if you want to extrapolate some type of Biblical reference you can do Lion and Lamb - but I know the warrior image is relatable to your audience.
