I love #31 (color) but when I look at the first letter i see a "L". I know it's not, but that is what I see visually. Can you make the first letter different and the "*" a fly? or dandelion that looks like a fly. maybe half of the petals off of the steam? let me know what you think...Thanks!
Hi Candace! :) Thanks for your feedback. I'll work on some variations (although we're supposed to watch Christmas movies all day tomorrow - so it might not be until Sunday afternoon / Monday)
#95 - here's a quick revision in between a christmas story and elf. :) I can work on the "d" a little more if you'd prefer the lowercase instead of the uppercase. It's custom type, so I just draw a new letter as necessary :)
Here are a couple more variations on the uppercase I shrunk the D down a touch to fit the rest of the lettering better. I also changed the angle of the fly to put him more in line with the path trailing from him.
For #138, I added a dropshadow that pulls away from the fly to attempt to make it create the illusion that he's lifted free of the logo and buzzing away.
Maybe put dots around in to close it in like the one I have ranked 1 right now. That's one thing that I really like that it kinda is nostalgic to me. I'm still not liking the lower case "d" but the upper case isn't bad.
I won't copy (I don't think you were saying that anyway, just wanted to make it clear from my end :) - but I can definitely add some nostalgia to it by adding a frame.
Here's a simple frame - it's offset for a retro vibe, but it also matches the thick-to-thin width of the type in #139 & #140. (also a new lowercase "d" - drawn to closely match the second "d")
#141 - thought I'd try a font with a retro feel. and then manipulated the "y" to include the trail and the dandelions. I left out the fly, just as an option
The angle of the type and the frame give it a wooshy / floaty feel, too. I thought I'd start as minimally as possible with the frame to avoid any spacing issues that can arise with pieced / dotted frames, but if you want me to look in a more complex direction, that's not a problem :)
