#3 - Is it possible to try to see what this looks like with Dagny's in red, with white background? Also, try Dagny's in red as #3 is right now. I LOVE the script! I also love the dark teal ish blue. The two blue companies in town are William Pitt (navy blue w/ white lettering) and William Raveis (light blue w/ white lettering) Need to be enough different.
Hi, Thanks for vivid description of the business landscape of your town - looks like a really nice place to be. As for the revisions - the one with red on teal - I'm afraid it won't have good readability but here it is.
Sculptor - I did not see your comment. I agree about the readability - Is it possible to see it with white lettering? on the teal? What I like about Entry #1 above here, is the easy readability of not only Dagny's, but also Real Estate. Is it possible to make the Real Estate just a hair bigger? - which means it will need to be a little lower, and closer in to the center .. And, I think the other font for the D looks more balanced..
You mean probably entry #21 and you are right this is not an illussion. Main font in this entry comes without slight shadow I used in other ones (except #1) This shadow makes letters look a bit thicker and heavier.

Is there something really close and similar in script that might be a little easier to read on a sign as you drive by? I am afraid the friends' comments have all been that what I think is so gorgeous is also hard to read as you drive by.... My favorite is #33, but friends think I will look like a hair salon .... Give me your input, also - you have done a lot of this... What do you think?
You are right to ask random people about their impressions. It will be them not us designers reading your sign. We always tend to defend our own work.
What can I say in deference of this logo? If this is the hair salon it's surely the classy one because colors are dimmed and the sign is fairy simple and abstract - not referring directly to the nature of the business. For me logo of this type says: "I'm selling property but won't put pressure on you, Enjoy life (like me) and make decision in your own sweet time..." Not exactly like property market in States now? Yeah, life is hard.
I will think about something bit more straightforward without loosing lightness.
