We'd like to have a zebra and would like to see it without text.

Do you like cartoonish?

Yes but we want it to look professional because it would be used with corporate clients so it can't be too childish.

One more last question though:
I'm not a fan of tracing images, do you need the exact same zebra like the one you provided?.

No we do not want the same image that we provided.

here's my second attempt, which is a more professional and stylized actively 'running' zebra.
If interested, I can tweak and fine-tune this concept to your requirements. Thanks for your time.

I like the design but it is not very clear that it is a zebra.

Dutch, Jenny's colleague here putting in my 2-cents worth of opinion.
I like the way you have colorized entry number 6, with mostly green and yellow and just hints of purple.
What I'm not mad about it how remote the zebra figure is. Seems too far away. We want personality to come through, hence a close up like entry #8 is preferred. The wwf panda bear springs to mind as being 'closer' or the linux penguin (though that it a bit too cheerful).
I don't think running or speed is something we want to convey. Accounting is more about balance than speed.
As jenny said, we don't need the words right now. Those can come later.
I like design #8 but the black background makes it look too sombre. I think we're after an outline shape too (panda or penguin again), more like a mascot than the square.
Thanks very much. Peter

Well, I was already working on a more stylized iconic approach.
Peter, thank you very much for your opinion, much appreciated!

Hi all, thanks for your submissions. We very much appreciate them. We've ranked the entries which are more realistic rather than abstract (like the swirl in #1) because we're after a mascot. We're even looking for a nickname for it, like ziggy or zebu. Bonus points for you if you come up with a name too !!! :)
Looking at the famous logos on the logo tournament site like the Michelin man or the WWF Panda makes me realize how we want an zebra with personality that I can feel I know (and knows me and likes and reassures me). Friendly, yes. Cutesy, probably not. Accessible yes. Memorable image, yes.
Color Accounting is going to change the way people see accounting. It represents a breakthrough in simplicity that makes a previously difficult subject accessible. (We've jut received a patent on the system, so we think the image is going to be widely seen. Which is why it needs to be unique and simple enough to be memorable.)

Here's another approach. A work-out from one of my doodles on paper, scanned-in at 600 dpi. Lines were quickly drawn by hand. When you're interested in a concept like this, I will fine-tune and tweak the lines and curves to a professional result.

Oh btw, I'd like to call them Ziba and Zibbie until I find a better one :P

Hmmmmmmmmm. #14 is very interesting. Going in the right direction. I like the simplification of the stripes, the fewer stripes. The head doesn't look very zebra-ish so would need work. And I'm still wondering if we can get closer in to the face somehow, to emphasize the head. I'm wondering if there's a half-way between full zebra and headshot?? Maybe not.
I feel the zebra we posted is looking at you. A side-on view seems to lose that.

Thanks, maybe just try to turn zibby's head just a bit so he looks at us.
Will try another shot coming next.

Some slight changes, still based on #14 though. I tweaked the eye a bit so the C is more clear and also serves as some kind of twinkle to emphasize friendliness a bit more. I'm not sure you noticed, but I already made an attempt to incorporate the c in the eyes before :P

Shifted some colors slightly so the greens and yellows are a bit more presented.

Just another quick concept with the CA in the eyes. Though I think the initials aren't that important for in a mascot..

Never thought zebras are such an inspiration, I could get on and on making lots of iconic variations, here's another one :P

Dutch, "my people" are saying the neck is too rounded! Any way to make it squarer and zebra-ish.
