What We Do
Hi logo tournament artists:) I am in the process of starting my own unique handmade jewelry business out of locally picked sea shells from Cape May—a beautiful shore town at the bottom of NJ. My target audience is tourists coming down and wanting to take a piece of Cape May home with them. Because of the top tier quality chains I will be using, this jewelry will draw a classier crowd. Also, Cape May has very affluent tourists, typically coming down from Connecticut/the Mainline/NYC. Honestly, everything with "Cape May" in the logo sells like crazy down here, people go nuts for it (ex: $30 Peanut Butter jars just because it is "Cape May Peanut Butter Co. on it). So, high class audience for sure. I grew up here and have a ton of local connections, so I will be at several stores and coffee shops with tiny jewelry stands next to the register. My Blurb is below ....."Meet the artist
Hi guys! Thanks for taking the time to read this and look at my creations đź©· My name is Koko Lafferty, a true Cape May local! After collecting almost thousands of shells through my 23 years of sunrise/sunset beach walks, I decided it was time to finally share some with you.
Every piece you see is handmade using shells that I collected myself from the beaches of Cape May, New Jersey.
When you take one home, you’re not just adding another accessory to your jewelry box—you’re Collecting Cape May.
You’ll also notice a few special shells from Captiva, FL (now that is MY vacation town growing up!). So go ahead: pick your favorite spot, shell, and start collecting with me!"......So, I would love a classy, Cape May Highlighted (the beach in the background, possibly the cove beach—Cape May's most iconic), and attention-grabbing yet classy logo!

Color Preferences
I would like the background to be either 1: the sand meets the shore (like a close up not a birds eye view). This way, I would like neutral colors primarily browns and light blues like the ocean and the sand. possibly an oyster shell, scallop shell in the background or on the sand? The other option is the Cove Beach in the background with a lifeguard boat or stand and lighthouse in the background—both iconic things here in Cape May and which I think will make my product sell. Picutres of the Cove Beach is included below.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The C in Cape May I would like to be a wave. The "o" in Collecting possibly a sun unless that makes it look too childish. (Can I see options with both?)
Background MUST be faded and subtle.....then the close up of the waves meeting the sand/possibly oyster and scallop shells or the cape may beach in background won't be the mail focus. I want the main focus on the white print of Collecting Cape May. I love cursive for the letters and the 2 c's connected, with the second one in the wave (like the mock one I drew in the images below). I am not set on the font, but I'd like a classy skinny elegant cursive, but not too hard to read. Any questions, let me know! Excited to see what is to come:)
