Not a bad first entry. I like the silohouette skyline. How about mixing up with color scheme and font stlye? My ideal font is something more along the lines of what SerOrestis is doing with the words "City Surfing".

A sunset skyline might look good behind the white buildings, im trying to make the color scheme have a more neon affect as opposed to dark colors. Also, im not a huge fan of the arrow, but I do like the semi-circle-esque style you are using.

Cant wait to see what you come up with next, thanks for the entry!

Hey khaugh, just to reemphasize, I really do like your logo, I'd just love to see what we can do with that concept if we expanded on it. I think it's got a lot of potential

Khaugh, I've been talking about this logo tournament to all my reps and we really liked your first design, but you really deviated from it in your second and third design. Keep the same design you had the first time in entry #41, but ditch the arrow, round out the design around the edges close the the "c", and do something different with the background/colors. You really dont need to change your original design, just tweak it. I really like it

Hey khaugh, thanks for responding with those changes that I asked for. After seeing what it looks like with the rounded effect though, I think I like the way you had it at first better (just without the arrow).

As I said before, I really like the concept behind your design, I'll try to throw out a list of tweaks and we'll see if we can get you bumped up here.

1) Don't round the design all the way down like in entry #73, I like how it sort of "comes to a point", with the arrow, I just don't like the arrow itself. I also don't care too much for the rounded affect on the edge of the building on entry #73, it looks a little odd.

2) After further thought, I'm not extremely opposed to the font you used in entry #41. However, I would like to see what it would look like if you used a similar white gradient like in this picture...

I'm referring to the lines that are in the bottom of the word "beach". I think its a sleek look.

3) Would it be possible to make the back ground look like a sunset as opposed to being straight blue? You don't even need to have a sun in the logo, but maybe some bold rays shooting out from behind the buildings could look really cool.

These are just some thoughts, I'd really like to see what else you can come up with!

Thanks,

Doug

To emphasize point 3 that a made above a little further, if you look at bomba's entry, the way the rays are coming up from behind the building, maybe something like that. Feel free to use different color schemes with it too, I would like some more neon colors in the logo

Nice! A great improvement. We are definitely heading in right direction now.

Lets see some other color schemes for the words city surfing... maybe make city neon yellow instead of pink. Also try neon green/yellow combination, and green/blue combination.

Also, I think the gradient you added on surfing is a great addition. Lets keep that, but let me see how it would look without the "bubble" effect around surfing.

Those rays behind the buildings look fantastic

Hey Khaugh,

Thanks for the updates. Can I see entries #82 and #83 with yellow instead of pink?

No problem. If you'd like to see any other color combinations just let me know.

Also, there is one major change that needs to be made that my reps have brought to my attention. The actual text need to be more "in" the rest of the logo. Right now the actual design aspect of the logo is too disconnected from the text. Would there be any way to either shrink/raise the text or enlarge/lower the skyline and sky behind it? It needs to have a slightly better flow to it.

thanks khaugh, I'm really liking the direction we are going

Solid change. I was just told by a few people that although the effects of the "rays" in the background is a great improvement, there are too many of them. Can you design one with not quite as many rays in the background?
