Sure. If the black is white though you won't be able to see the circle unless on a colored background. I'll upload one on white and one on pink for an example so you can see. :-)

I checked with the other designer whether it was your idea and they said it was so I'm ok to have it in the background. I've done a few emblem style designs with it behind the fox and a couple with it in front.
