Sigh, as you can see we have moved another designer up into first place. This was done by no fault of your own and after 3 votes of the larger group. To tell you a bit about our process, here's this: You have been chatting with two people, me (afton) and Chelsea (a neuroscientist with good taste). That might be why some of the communication was at times a bit scattered. We make up 2 of the 4 person logo team representing a bunch of scientists and research assistants. The 4 logo team members ALL liked your designs the best and greatly appreciated working with you. However, the vote kept coming back with your designs in second place. Grumble. It became quite the ordeal - we ended up with Team Ray and Team Mac. After the 3rd and final vote, Mac won again. So, please accept our deepest thanks and apologies for the outcome. You are very talented, responsive and kind. Best of luck to you in future contests!! 5 years ago raymer commented on #247 Withdrawn No worries :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #247 Withdrawn Hi Ray, Just a quick note to say how much we appreciate your responsiveness. We really love your designs, but we also have to consider input from the broader group. We're just looking at a couple tweaks with another designer. Please stand by. Thank you! 5 years ago raymer commented on #253 Withdrawn Sure i will be back at my PC soon so I will upload then :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #253 Withdrawn Hi Ray. Could you add a blue bar to this version? Then we will have a logo for dark or light backgrounds. 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #253 Withdrawn These are cool, too! Thank you, Ray. 5 years ago raymer commented on #234 Withdrawn Sure i just uploaded a couple of updates :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #234 Withdrawn can you try this version with a very thin blue outline on the maize brain? 5 years ago raymer commented on #250 Withdrawn No worries, i just uploaded #251 :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #250 Withdrawn Could it be a wee bit thinner - somewhere between the two sizes? 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #250 Withdrawn I like the thinner brain better :) 5 years ago raymer commented on #248 Withdrawn lol, i cut back on that part too, no worries i will upload again shortly :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #248 Withdrawn better, brainstem is especially better. you still need to add a bump where the temporal lobe is. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lobes_of_the_brain I promise I won't get too much pickier about neuroanatomy! :) 5 years ago raymer commented on #247 Withdrawn Sure i will work on some updates and will upload soon :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #247 Withdrawn Hi Ray, We've received more feedback from our group and some feel that the brain is a little too abstract looking still. Could you try smoothing out the edges of the brain into a more "conventional" brain shape? Keep the triangles and this color scheme though. thanks! 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #247 Withdrawn It's looking great! You are so responsive, Ray, thank you. Could you also provide a version of this contained in a rectangle so it could be placed on a white background? 5 years ago raymer commented on #247 Withdrawn Updated the Research Center to maize :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #244 Withdrawn can you put research center in maize color? thanks! 5 years ago raymer commented on #241 Withdrawn No worries i just uploaded a few more, using the the bolder version of the font i was using :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #241 Withdrawn we are getting really close I think. we still are not in love with the font though. it needs to be heavier than #240, but "AND FATIGUE" looks too big here. can you also remove the horizontal bar and try a vertical bar between the brain and the text? 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #239 Withdrawn hmmm. whoops, I might like the brain in the original direction. sorry! :) 5 years ago raymer commented on #234 Withdrawn Sure i will upload now :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #229 Withdrawn can you put the brain with the variations in maize color on this dark background too please? 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #234 Withdrawn we love this, ray. can you flip the brain so that the brainstem is close to the text? 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #233 Withdrawn These are looking very nice! Would it be possible to use a heavier san serif font similar to the University of Michigan standards? Does not need to be exact. 5 years ago raymer commented on #227 Withdrawn haha its all quiet my end at the minute :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #227 Withdrawn you are insanely fast! thank you! 5 years ago raymer commented on #227 Withdrawn No worries, i just uploaded a few options for you :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #227 Withdrawn We prefer this text layout. thanks! we've started the survey with our larger group and many feel that this brain is "too busy". can you try simplifying the color scheme somewhat? an idea might be all the triangles in variations of the maize color (dark background) or blue color (white background). 5 years ago raymer commented on #220 Withdrawn Sure thing, I will upload shortly :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #220 Withdrawn Hi Ray, could you try this with the text layout as: Chronic Pain And Fatigue Research Center Try to make Research Center stand out somehow. 5 years ago raymer commented on #219 Withdrawn Sure i will upload again soon :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #219 Withdrawn Hi Ray, I like these colors better. Quickly, before we make up our minds, can you try a layout where the text is on the side and the brain is next to the text on the left. 5 years ago raymer commented on #210 Withdrawn Yes i had to change the colours around for this :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #210 Withdrawn we like the softness though, so maybe the maize makes the transitions too harsh... 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #210 Withdrawn that's prettier. does that still have the michigan maize in there? 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #198 Withdrawn we like the size of the brain in this one. and the blue is perfect. I'll be honest with you - our group is split over your logo. some people love it and others feel that it doesn't work as well next to the michigan logo and they don't love the color scheme of the brain as much in these newer versions - some said that with the darker versions, it becomes harder to tell that it is a brain. I don't have specific suggestions for you, other than I wanted you to know what people are saying. thanks for all the work you're doing for us! 5 years ago raymer commented on #195 Withdrawn Sure i will update and upload again now :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #192 Withdrawn don't like the bold font as much 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #195 Withdrawn Hi again, this blue looks a little light. can you try it darker to match: http://med.umich.edu/branding/color.html 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #197 Withdrawn thanks! :) 5 years ago raymer commented on #195 Withdrawn Sure i just uploaded #197 :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #195 Withdrawn Hi Ray, Could we see this version with a white background and blue text? 5 years ago raymer commented on #177 Withdrawn Sure, i just uploaded #187 :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #177 Withdrawn Nice, could we see this one with serif font for "research center"? 5 years ago raymer commented on #165 Withdrawn No worries i just uploaded #177 & #178 trying to lessen to the contrast between the colours :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #165 Withdrawn Thanks! 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #165 Withdrawn Hi Ray. These are nice. Could we see some of the maize and blue designs with more subtlety in between the colors of the brain? What was appealing about the original colors was the soft transitions between triangles. Also, the serif font on all letters looks more sophisticated. Be inspired by the Michigan font and colors but not constrained by them. 5 years ago raymer commented on #160 Withdrawn Sure, no problem :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #160 Withdrawn thanks Ray. Also, could you try one that would work against a dark blue background? 5 years ago raymer commented on #160 Withdrawn No worries, i will work on some updates using these links and will upload again soon :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #160 Withdrawn Hi Ray, We like your designs, but we have some more specific requests we would like you to try out if possible. We are part of the University of Michigan and we would like our logo to reflect that to some extent. At the very least, we want it look good when it is next to the Michigan Medicine logo. We can't use the words "Michigan Medicine", but we can use the maize and blue colors and a similar font. See these links: http://med.umich.edu/branding/color.html and http://med.umich.edu/branding/typography.html of course we definitely appreciate the creativity and expertise you bring to this as well! thank you for all the submissions so far. 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #84 Withdrawn Yes. Sorry for the confusion. This is close. I was wondering what it would look it if the text was partially overlaying the brain. So that text and image were integrated. 5 years ago raymer commented on #84 Withdrawn I was a little unsure on your comments to make the brain go behind the text, is this close to what you were thinking ? Thanks 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #28 Withdrawn Hi Ray Can we see options of this logo with a slightly larger brain, and options with it extending behind the text? Thanks 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #2 Withdrawn Thanks!! 5 years ago raymer commented on #2 Withdrawn No worries, I am on my way to my PC now, so I won't be too long :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #2 Withdrawn Could you please edit this design so that the brain is in shades of blue and yellow (school colors) with minimal green and so that lettering is more like the other designs we really like with all caps: Chronic Pain and Fatigue on the top line and in larger font, and Research Center on the lower line in smaller font. 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #1 Withdrawn We like the colorful graphic brain, too. 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #43 Withdrawn Thanks for doing this, but now that we can see it, using all the same size font feels off balance. The earlier logo is preferred. Thanks though! 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #11 Withdrawn Thanks!! 5 years ago raymer commented on #27 Withdrawn Sure i just uploaded #42 :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #12 Withdrawn Add fatigue to the same line. Maybe replacing "and" with "&" to balance the text. 5 years ago raymer commented on #11 Withdrawn Sure i will upload some updates soon :) 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #11 Withdrawn This is too much bold font. Could you try using "&" instead of spelling out "and" in some of the designs? Chronic Pain & Fatigue Research Center 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #27 Withdrawn Hi. Could you please try to make "Research Center" the same size as the other text? thanks! 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #25 Withdrawn Thanks, ray! 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #1 Withdrawn Could you reset the center's name on this one, too? Chronic Pain and Fatigue Research Center 5 years ago raymer commented on #25 Withdrawn Hi thanks for your feedback, i had uploaded this before your comments, so i will work on some colour options for you now and will upload again soon :) ray 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #25 Withdrawn That was fast! Like it. 5 years ago aftonhassett commented on #3 Withdrawn raymer - we really like your designs! Could we see a version of this one with shades of maize and blue? Also, is it possible to show us Fatigue on the top line? Chronic Pain and Fatigue Research Center 5 years ago
