Here is my entry for your contest. I came up with an icon, a necklace made of pearls and gold - forming the letters c and j all in one symbol. A tiny understated heart charm is hanging off of the "c".
Entry # 1 Thanks Anna! I was very excited to see your design! I really like the cj symbol and the font for my name. I actually use a small key charm on many of my silver pieces, so the charm was a great idea...could it be changed to a small skeleton key? The sparkles are probably not in keeping with the jewelry I make. Yesterday someone told me that while I have some classic pearl pieces, that my work is more 'hip' and varied than that. I wonder if having mostly pearls indicates that 'hipness'. Let me know what you think! Chris
#3, #4 I like the font change. I think the symbol is a little busy. Ideally I would like the symbol to be something I could tag the jewelry with. Thanks, Anna
Hi Anna, As I figure out what I like, Im just going to think and type. I really like the CJ symbol because it makes the logo about me as a brand. As long as I stay true to my aesthetic in the graphic design, it will match whatever direction I go in my jewelry design. This makes the logo more versatile and long-lasting. I love the color eggplant. I love turquoise and brown together. I love all shades of green (except for kelly). What could the CJ symbol be made out of and still have impact...chain?, color,? a brush stroke? (to indicate hand made quality)? Maybe the symbol doesnt have to indicate jewelry at all. Im really branding myself and jewelry is in the name, so maybe the actual symbol should not indicate jewelry at all? Do I slip the skeleton key in, or leave it out? Now, on my business cards its a tiny little symbol in the bottom right corner. I dont know exactly what Im looking for yet, but I think I will know it when I see it. Im sure its challenging to try to interpret all this, but you seem creative and am hoping you dont give up. Chris
Hi Chris, it would be great if you provide individual feedback to the designer, this way he or she will get the email notification right a way :)
My thoughts on the flower, all of the elements are removable so the petals can come off for the more serious product line and put back on for the other purposes. What do you think about the font? I hand-wrote it.
Thanks for the tip on feedback:) I think the font looks very cool! I like that the flower on #20 is more sophisticated. Some flower placement variations would be interesting to see. What about the CJ in the flower middle. Would it be possible to see some variation there?
I think the white circle makes the symbol more whimsical. Could there be something that would add more 'hip?'. Could the font in the middle of the flower match the word jewelry or would that look weird? Could I see that? Im working on posting a few pics of my recent work for you to look at...somebody else had asked, thought you might be interested. I also have some pics on a static website put together a couple of years ago: christinejonesjewelry.com I appreciate the variations you have sent my way!
Nice work! On your entry #27, could I see different font choices and maybe placement for the word jewelry? I recognize that the cj in the symbol match the jewelry font. Ideas? Colors are nice. I like the little flower flourish. Pretty without being cutesy.
Hi Chris, I really loved the carnelian and gold earrings on your site. I created a design of an earring using your intials - C and J. C is the bottom and J is the hook.
Hi Anna, I love that you are still thinking and creating! Its funny about those earrings, because I have always liked them especially too. Maybe it's the color, but Ive sold significantly fewer of them than some others and I cant figure out why! Your design in the top spot is still my favorite. Could I see some different font choices for the word jewelry? There is something about the balance or white space or relationship between the words that needs tweaking...does that make sense? Thanks!
Hi anna I ve decided cleaner is better so want to focus on the flower design. Is there someway to overlap the flower and the name or add a little more interest (depth) to the flower without adding busy? Its a beautiful symbol and I was hoping to see a little more development...possible at this late hour?
On another note, I am seriously interested in the more whimsical flower or something similar for my girls' line..how do we work that?
