It would be nice if you would at least rank the entries - it gives us points for the effort. I will try for another design. I was following your request for a Starbuck's - like look and will maybe bury some symbolism into it in a more subtle way.
You know what i am new at this ... so there is a way to rank like 1,2,3 etc... ? i am going ot look into it thanks :)
Also I want to thank you for working on this and am trying to give as much feedback as possible. I see what you are trying to do, (starbucks sign) and I liek the idea now that you mention it. I guess instead of the menorah, if you can put the image of rabbichalom thats attached in the brief you can even modify it to make it more cartoonish (if you want an original pic i can provide you with that) and make the round logo more colorful/glossy/vibrant ? maybe more cartoonish like neon sign i hope that makes sense. Maaybe something like this ? http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sBx1I8XJ7uU/SroeXytT8kI/AAAAAAAACkw/8UkEAI7NDSM/s400/snoopy-cafe-neon-sign.jpg I am not sure myself but I would like something in that style obviously with a pic in it thats represent rabbichalom (I am working for him and he is the one who put me in charge of getting a logo for his site)
If you need pics i can provide you with that. Please let me know what you think . Also i like the look of it to look nice, not amateurish :) but you're the pro :)
tried to find a more universal symbol that might look good within the magnifying glass on your site - that would have a retro look and colors and a retro type style as well with the icon that can be adapted for different applications with or without the shadow effects. Please at least rank the entries so the designers can get some credit for our efforts.
didn't see feedback before - not sure they allow us to get separate emails of photos but it is a good thing to work from if that is the image style you want. #7 Hidden in my flame are symbols - a shin, two doves and a flame. I can add a neon effect but then you are more limited in the application. It is best to have multiple versions that work - some for web, some for print on things like shirts and mugs and one that will do okay in black and white for photocopies not to look dull. My primary business is promotional merchandise (note company name) so I try to be sensitive to that. If you want a stylized image of the rabbi to be included you need to give a reference to his photo or try to send one to us. It would also be good to know some about his character to try to capture in the icon. (All Rabbis are not alike - several in my family!) It just depends on the image he wants for the website. The objective for the site also needs to be considered.
#8 I like this one better, but not the flame also even if this is a jewish site we are not looking for jewish symbols to be on the logo. I know it sounds weird its what we like. This rabbi is very accessible very hip and people love him here. He is a lot of fun and that should be reflected. I will ask him for some pic and get back to you tomorrow morning.
The objective of the site is not to sell merchandise it is to inspire and to have people look at it and see fun while at the same time interested to connect.
I like the #3 logo the best because the police he used is good, maybe something round like you have with the pic of the rabbi in the middle and underneath the writing like he has would look good. Also the colors should change not into bworn, white and red is good looks fresh and vibrant.
