after reading the brief, to update to more modern look while still having similar style, i suggest changing the font. i choose similar font, but with modern look. also to make a bit of arrangement on the "heating and air conditioning". i do have several options, to use the red border or not. i think you will get more modern look without the red border. the red border still look modern, but more on the conservative side. there are options on the tagline as well, to be included inside the 'container' or outside. both looking good.
