in order to select a winner you must selct a first place desinger a seond palce desingere (different and a third palce desinger. One desinger cannot be all 3. does this make sense
During a contest I never reveal typeface, however if I am selected, then I provide all the necessary information plus a comnprehensive file package, which is better than the eps and 3 jpg required by LT.
its not bad at all,, i like what you're showing me, I'm having to relay it all to my business partners - 2 of them, and they both have equal stake and decision making power.. I'm pushing your ideas to them.. i do like this one.. i think with the mascot here, we will use it for our menu, and then for the cashew with a v plant coming out, we will use that for the logo, thats what I'm pushing
do you know the font of the other one i mentioned? we as a team were previously hooked on that, before you stepped in. then my partners mentioned being able to actually read the logo whilst driving by..
You should be going with a traditonal font such as helvetic and not use any script style this will eleviate any problems for reproduct...in my option the text I've been using is perfectly suitable. there are a numbe rof ways to do signage it all depends on the type style.
need to play around with this font a little bit i think. Its for a lounge restaurant. will be a shop front. has to be legible but also classy., i personally like the font we've been using but my partners want variations on it.
desingers are not permitted to show logo mockups...but if you are planningon adding the logo to any metal surface engrave would be one option and for signage you could have it raised off the surfacce. it could be cut from metal or an acrylic.
we can do somethign like this a offset solid colour drop shadow, light enough to have contrast on white background and enough contrast with the text colour.
The effect I think you are referring to is gradients, a gradient effect is not suitable for this thin text.
I highly recommend not to use gradients is text...if gradients are a must the font needs to be a lot heaver in order to to see it in print.
well..stay up and do it :P
i like your work and saw your portfolio, I'm looking for a brand..im not a logo designer, but i think you can take us forward possibly.. add a bit of your taste in to it for us thanks.
and don't forget the cashew tree has a leaf above the C... maybe another leaf at the end of the e on the end of tree.. just a thought.
and some depth? that was just an idea.
3. more depth not sure I undersand this. if you are referring to gradient old 80 bubble effect ... it's bad design and with a thin text it does not work.
Can you add some more depth to the logo. make it more solid - I've seen your page with some of the logos that you've done. don't change anything to the logo as far as font or the cashew. but make it more solid.. substantial? thoughts?
The cashew with the V coming out - will and can be on its own as well. Can you do something like that with a circle around it, as if it were in a circle board.
Also can we have one with a slogan (different font) coffee . lounge . Restaurant - underneath it.. just to give us an idea of what it would look like as a sign for a restaurant. thank you for all of your help.
i like this one.. this could be the way we go. I want to see if we can make it more cartoony.. especially the cashew with the leaves coming out of it/ does that make sense?
very very close with the font. i love the leaf that stems of the C. Maybe one with and without the line underneath it. Try and thicker and thinner font as well. And some different colors.
Too clarify, becuase the first pahse is blind there maybe desiger who have simialr ideas, the differnce is that we cannot see what is upaloded there for those concpets can be developed by each designers. for example the hand written style with the leaf on the C someone may have done somethiing simialr or may uplaod later during the first phase...that is perfectly acceptable.
The problem arises when CH's (contest holders) ask other desinger to add or use a similar style element that they ahd not done.
I had run into this issue a several contests before and its never a positive experience.
My apologies for getting getting to long winded here.
The reason GreenBay looks good is because of the G and the lower case why balance the upper case G. We do no thave that advantge here. but all caps would make the name too agressive like typing with all caps..does this make sense?
yes the greenbay one i understand.. can you find one close to the vietnamese restaurant.. i like that a lot. and then maybe a single leaf that stems off of the h in cashew - very subtle
ok, this is difficult ther are literally 10's of thouosand of fonts if not more. The font use din GreenBay is 99% sure is Helvetic. which I have used here. I'll try another similar style and also a similar to the other font as well
Please keep in mind any desing submitted by desingere are confidental and icon concepts should not be shared with other designers, this will cause a a problem between designers, something you or designers want. The client FAQ's are an excellent read, but it's long and dry. Same for desinger FAQ's.
If you are not aware the first pahse of your contest is blind, desingers cannot see each other work. When the contest goes to the finalist phase (2nd) all submissions are visible.
It look like a Franklin or Helvetica font used iin the first photo. I'll give that a try
