I prefer your first logo design, it is more unusual.
If the company name was CCCU, we might go with this. The logo needs to yell, "wow."

I see the C and S in logo, but it screams SS!
I appreciate the use of green tone on tone. It might work with blues, too, but I'm not feeling it with the alternate logo.

Impressive. trending toward deeper blue and gray. But, what about deeper blue with this mustard yellow. Perhaps a little darker yellow as well.
I like the simplicity of the logo. Abstract CSCS, in line form.. I see the two curves are not identical. What happens if they are? Not necessarily closing the center circle, but maybe something close. I like the font! nice choice.
