Wanted to get this idea posted today, using the tail of the "y" to form a ukulele shape / silhouette. Will work on a more refined version this week with more color, etc.
Thanks for the submission. I like where you are going with incorporating the ukulele into the "y" I'd like to see something similar with a more sophisticated font, color added possibly a background relating to upcountry maui. We have a unique tree that grows here called Jacaranda that has beautiful lavendar color that really sybolizes the area. Thanks again for your submission. Also look at curtis wilson cost an artist who paints this area a lot.
Hi Matthew, Like this font better. Prefer in black or some other color. Not sure I like the M in Maui or the I . Also font size (of maui) should be a little larger. Some other fonts that looked interesting on dafont.com Miana Gorri Sans Alex jelly pirmokas dear joe 5 journal adorable comfortaa FFF Tusj Thanks for your efforts, Cary
Here is a version with one of the fonts you liked (a more hand-written style). Is this more like the type of font you are looking for in your company name?
Hi Matthew, Actually I think I like your second entry best as far as font style. I just don't like the "M" on Maui and the "i" on Maui. Looking forward to your other ideas with the logo.
Here is an updated version with the font you liked and some color added to it. If there are specifics elements (like a palm tree? tikki? flower? sun rays?) that you want to add to it, let me know.
How do you like the wordmark itself (who your name looks)?
Also in #20 the wordmark is a brown color, but that could be more pronounced.
Did you want the lavendar color (like the color in the circle outline) in there somewhere else?
I also though about making the soundhold of the guitar a "flower" shape, but then I read in another thread that you are not to keen on the cliche "flower" shape that others are using.
Thanks matthew, Since your specialty is wordmarks, let's possibly work on that alone as I do really like how you incorporated the ukulele int o the Y. take out the palm and keep the fading yellow to brown background. any special skills you may have with making the letters stand would be good. Straight brown dosen't jump out at me enough. Also I don't think I like the round yellow half circle at the bottom. and get rid of the lavendar color that i requested. dosent work. black border or styled border?
Hi mattew, sorry for the delayed response, yeah the colorful font isn't really what I'm after more of a sophisticated, classy image is what I want. I do like some of the entries I got with color transition in the font. white to Blue or white to green. Possibly try a couple other backgrounds transition as well like Blue or Dark Green.
Throwing another revision into the mix.... Just updated the font a bit, added a background and some color to the text hopefully more in line with what you like...
... but really Cary I think you have a few GREAT designs here -- you know what I think of Tahia's -- and I would be lucky to be included in those.
