I was going for simplicity, since the simpler - the more memmorable to the viewer, as a research states. :)

Here, there is sea and a beach - the name Bremer Bay is as if on the beach, comforting the slogan "we are the ones on the beach" :)

I visited your webpage and I see there are pelicans on the bay - this is something the people would connect the logo to the bay ;)
