Hi- you said it ! this might be great for a sign in kid's novelities or as a large cardboard fold over assortment bag header. I see this more for product items than as the store logo.It does captivate and draw the eye to it.
I dont mind the playfulness of it for inside the store but want to keep it simple for the website ( i think).
I will have my website guys take a look at what is posted and give me their thoughts on what translates.

thanks,

Thank you Marilyn for the feedback yes, I too can see those kids running down to your shop and being WOWed by the packaging. (You can almost hear the weew/ boom noises coming from it. ha-ha!) I can cetainly pull back on this design and refine it for your adult market. As a designer I really appreciate your comments and because of this I will work on your contest today. All the best- :0) Ace

Hi
My website design team has a homepage constraint issue and has asked me to select a design where the graphic/logo stays left and the words boom town fireworks.com stays right.
I upped the prize a bit to $300 cause they are causing more work.

thanks

No Problem, thank you for the additional prize money being offered though, I'm sure the other artist feel as I do, we just want to see that you get a great design that works for you. That being said, here is my new concept with a more business style layout. Look forward to hearing from you... Many thanks! Ace

Hi Marilyn. It's me Ace, I just came up with the concept of putting your fireworks in a shipping box with your name (BOOM) stamped on the side. The box took some work but I really hope it adds a unique element to your logo. I would be happy to recolor/ change font/ background etc. Ace

Hi Ace-
The web design team ( it's my son in law's company but am treated and paying them just like any other person but I am hopeful it might get done in a timely manner and actually work well)
says that I am expecting too much out of a logo ( fire the imagination of the world)
It has to play on a white background for the web and be modifiable to a dark background as well, logo to the left, copy to the right and be readable - minimum expectations.
It has to have clarity, excitement and that WOW imprint on a guy's brain so they associate it with us not the godzillion other pyro co's.
that said:
I like #59's Boom Town wording size and choice of color
I like # 60's box of rockets ( tho it looks like a clone in part to shutterstock's #32245891)
I like #58's star in the o of com.
I am not sure the cherry bomb doesnt belong sitting in an o and something else pyro related should take it's place next to the rockets. We sell missles, firecrackers, rockets, roman candles, artillery shells, sparklers, fountains, finale cakes ( shows in a box) novelties etc. over 600 items.Sure there is something colorful to pull from.
thanks for taking the assignment to heart and giving it your best.

Marilyn

Oh, I just looked up the box, I never saw it before. I was actualy inspired by a UPS box I received in the mail. Great minds think alike (just kidding). It looks as if it was drawn from the perspective of looking down on it/ mine a little more straight on. Truth be told, I was thinking about doing a box full of goodies scince concept #2, it just took some work/time to make. Glad you like it. ;0) Also, I just did some homework on the variety you offer and WOW I am inspired. I will work on these with fresh eyes in the morning.
All the best, Ace

Hi-
SInce you have Boom on one side might as well add Town to the other visible side.
Box is fine brown cardboard or you can play now with contents or colors.
thanks,

Also Ace.
#57, #40 #44 are perfectly acceptable to me but have the issue of needing to see how you can make any of those play against a white background for the website.
#29 we think makes a great assortment novelty bag header.

thanks,
Marilyn

Great, thanks! These are the 4 designs you requested on white backgrounds. I had to modify them just a touch (white text on white background for instance) to produce the same look. I can also just "outline" stroke the letters with color if you would like to see that. I'm still working on firecrackers strung together, I want to get them just right before adding them to our box, and think they would look cool hanging over one side. Still I hope you like the changes (they were no trouble), and if you see something you would like changed just let me know. Best to you, Ace

Dear Ace,
Clearly in the lead and we are at the end of the contest unless I extend one day to get the details worked out with out on which is best of the bunch.
#91 I would like the two oo's in boom more like the #80 w the star at the wick end.
I would not mind seeing #91 with #82's rocket t as an ad on to tie it into the box
It could be a tad too much...
#57 love simplicity of it... needs a darker or wider font for fireworks.com
#29 Lots of people love this busy drawing best... for me to go with it I would have to see how it plays on a white background
#44 think the fireworks.com shows as too feathery- not sure why color is not the issue
#71 near perfect drawing - just missing town on one side of the box
#45 works fine
#85 not sure re: placement of the words work and I really do not like when the fuses on the oo's look like christmas ornaments
#61 pink for fireworks just doesnt work- hot pink maybe but not pale pink

If you have time see if any of these are doable change outs.

Since I am a first time bidder, not sure how the winner gets the material to the bidder and in what format it arrives- jpeg, gif, tif?? I iwill need to be able to use it on the website, on stationary,on line and on possibly store cotton t-shirts for staff.
thanks for all the hard work and attention to detail,
Marilyn OConnor

Hello Marilyn.

Wonderful news- happy to make any changes to help you sort out which of the design concepts will be best suited for BOOM TOWN! I will work on as many of these changes as I can tonight. With our collaboration, we will make sure you get a great logo! Even if it’s #29, just kidding!!!

If we don’t get every detail exactly how you want it’s no problem, you are still welcome to complete your contest and I would be happy to work with you on any changes requested. There will be time after the contest has been completed to work on all the fine details (colors, fonts, etc.)

Thank you for providing your contact information, however, I won’t be able to contact you directly (except through Logo Tournament messages) until the contest is over (Logo Tournament rules of conduct). :0)

After the contest has been completed and judged by you, the winning designer will upload a vector file (.EPS) and a bitmap file (JPEG) for you to review. After you have accepted the final files, then you can contact the winning logo designer to work out any modifications, such as different background colors, tweaking elements, sizing, and so on.

I would be happy to work with you after the contest has been completed (if I am the winning designer) to make every detail perfect – and to make sure you are satisfied with your shiny brand new logo. I can provide you the logo in any format you require, such as (JPEG, GIF, TIFF, etc.)

Let’s keep it fun – please don’t worry too much, Boom Town is going to look great! If you have any other questions feel free to ask. I’m really looking forward to working with you. :0) Ace

Dear Ace,
I really needed to know how this site and the process works. My web design project manager nicholas.crumlett@americaneagle.com will want to the files to be formatted a certain way for the website.
Again, I will want my files formatted for emails, price lists, banners, bag headers, clothing.
So if I have a designer who is interested in staying on board and creating in the future designs for store
products, it is like having a marketing dept without daily overhead.
Website is first and needs to be done asap
Bag headers is 2nd and is a good early spring project.

I can see where I would like to have several of your current concepts but will just put one of them first to end the contest. Once the web team pick whichever I will wait til that part is over and you can proceed after being paid etc to work just want to make sure we both are compliant w the way logotournament rules are drafted.
If I know the fuses on the cherry bombs can be black, green or whatever shows best I will not keep fussing.

thanks,
Marilyn

Hi, this is our "very fun" design. I'm really sorry, but the white background just did not look the same as the black one did. The design overall has a lot of highlights and they look best on a dark background. So, I placed it on a dark/bright blue and made some changes to it. Thank you again. Ace

Hi Marilyn,

I can definitely provide your website designer the files in any format that is needed. I can work directly with your website designer for file formats and work with you on design changes or modifications.

I’m very excited that you like my designs and I think there will be a lot of ways that we can use these design elements for other projects. You will find that I am very easy to work with and look forward to speaking with you shortly.

You may want to check with the Logo Tournament site, but I have heard that if you are happy with your contest “as is”, the Contest Holder is able to end the contest early.

Thank you again-yeah!!!

Dear Ace,
I had about 15 yrs ago a guy draw me up ( elance.com) what was a very simple logo.
Either an employee walked with the dvd or I just lost it. Your #80 reminds me of that
drawing which was simple
The same red cherry bomb tho sized larger and shader darker on the outer edge with a
star spark tipped a bit over a blue letter Boom Town followed by a red lettered Fireworks
with just a smaller star above the letter i in fireworks. (So some of the cherry bomb sat behind
the letter BO part.)
underneath in narrower letters was the slogan everything from boom to zoom.
Once this contest is over and we can exchange emails, I will be able to send you the file for review and I am sure you can create something similar with .com at the end for our usage.

I extended it cause my son and daughter who will eventually inherit this biz want a chance to review too
and then there is the web designer who has to pick what works. All minor delays and if they like what I like good and if not, too bad... I am going with you and one of your designs anyway.
My money, my company, my decision.

thanks,
Marilyn

Oh you just reminded me, I didn't even ask… if you wanted your slogan on the design. Maybe, you mentioned it in the original description that you had for your contest before it was changed. (The one that said you wanted the cherry bombs as oo’s and rockets etc.) Just let me know if you want it incorporated.

I agree the solo cherry bomb is very “cool” on its own. I too am looking forward to exchanging info. and getting started. Marilyn, I really appreciate everything and am having a great time working on BOOM for you. I don’t think I have any logos on t-shirts yet that will be fun to see, maybe on your website photo gallery, which by the way is so informative. Wow, that is a lot of exciting goods you have there. What a fun shop! Ace

Hi-
Julie and Nick and Matt and Tony and Jen and all the web people over at americaneagle.com have pushed for #80 tho #91,#99 ranked high but perhaps a bit cartoonish for the logo is their opinion. They suggested also making it more like what came into the site as #2 ( hand grenade). I think what they like about that one is they can move the logo icon and the name around to fit the site.

so if # 80 can be broken and moved around as needed. Take a look at prior email re: showing cherry bomb behind a bit of the name or being enlarged etc.

Hi Marilyn,
I'm glad everyone got to take a look. (Happy to make changes.) I will take the text of #80 and place it on a solid background color, so you can move them as described. I'll reposition the cherry bomb behind BO, enlarge and add a small star to the i in Fireworks.com. If what I send is not exactly what you had in mind just let me know. We'll get it. :0) Ace

Hi Alina-
#80 in an effort to improve on perfection.
In the pyro biz BIG is always better.
It's a guy thing!!!
So keep every thing the same- just "super size" it
and see how that plays.
thanks,
Marilyn

Hi
Dont freak out.
#152 front runner- can we move the name up so it is like in #146?
currently 152 has the bounce or thrown effect. ( you might have been wanting to convey movement?)
By moving the name up slightly it might be more stable.
Bomb in the box might get the feds in the door thinking I am a terrorist ( sp) but cute.
Just not sure how it would play to govt reg agencies.

Wish jen would get home...

I keep switch the 3rd and 4th spots. Feel bad for those guys.....

Dear Alina,
Surprise you won!! They ( meaning my kids) thought the other stuff too cartoonish... blah, blah, blah.... but there is a new twist/thought that may be a first ever....
Jen got home from her wedding at 1am and threw out an idea. Apparently this #1 child of mine took 5 yrs of marketing classes at CLCLB. She wants me to brand or is it cross brand both sites boom town fireworks #1 logo #146 with Tim's #91 logo at FOI.
She thinks the cherry bomb you created would do really well with tim's perfected text that may need to be enlarged a bit to make this work.
He would give you his stars for boom town fireworks your text.
We would end up with instead of two different logos for the two divisions with interchangeable logos+ texts.
1. cherry bomb boomtown fireworks #146
2. stars fireworksindiana #91
3. cherry bomb fireworks of indiana new shared creation
4. stars boomtown fireworks new shared creation.

Did I warn you that my life is never boring?
Or would you both take offense at this branding idea and go running screaming for the hills???
I know you both could copy each other's work, but artistic integrity tells me that is not the path to go down,
also if you tell me and my daughter to stick it,
We will just jetson the idea and live with #91 for FOI and #146 for BTF.
You and Tim would both have integrity on 90% of your work and would co share just two additional drawings.

Your #91 is my families 2nd choice. WEIRD two #91's both finishing near or at top.
thanks for your time/patience....
Congrats!!!
