Marcelo, The striped bass is definitely the fish I want in my logo. I will look at your portfolio shortly to see what else you have done - thanks for providing that. I'll comment again shortly. Thanks Dan
Marcelo! Thank you for your submissions! I thought I posted a comment before but it looks to have not gone through! Either way, i enjoy the designs but the mouth is keeping me from ranking higher. The type of fish I'm looking for has a mouth that opens in front of them pointed straight out (like this: >) as opposed to a salmons which is pointed more upward.(like this: v).
Been a bit under the weather but managed to get in a few more design last night. I then noticed that my fish needed anatomical changes. :) Note the the last version, I began to change the fins. I feel a bit better today, so I'll focus on the fish first and make it a true stripe bass look. I noticed what you mean about the mouth and will make those changes. Should I keep the lures concept in the word? I thought it might be nice to put a bit more emphasis on the lures too. So that the logo does not look like a fishing charter.
This may sound like a dumb question but when you say "lure-storage and protection solutions." does that mean that you will be selling tackle? I was not to sure what the "protection solutions" meant.
Lastly, do you like more cartoonish style or serious and outdoorsy? (like something you would see in Cabella's or other hunting type logos, like browning.)
Of course this is should I make it in Top 5, but either way I was interested in knowing. :)
Is there a website (your or a competitor) that you can send me the link so that I can get a real feel for the company?
Marcelo, I hope you are feeling beter! You definitely made the top 5 cut - you did well.
You make a good point with your emphasis on the lures, I appreciate that point of view.
"Lure storage and protection" is a fancy way of saying "tackle box" haha. To be specific, my competitors are MAK Surfcasting and Ebbpoint Surf Fishing. They make plug (tackle) bags, and the plastic tube inserts for the bags. Big Blitz Surfcasting specializes in the plastic tubes. The tubes we make are of greater quality at a lower price point. Another competitor is Plano. They make tackle boxes but do not make the tubes. My website is not up - I own the domain www.bigblitzsurfcasting.com but am waiting on a logo before I design it.
As for the cartoonish vs outdoorsy, I do like the logo Browning uses, and Seeker Rods too.
I have to head to an appointment and will be back shortly.
