I like the approach. Can you do something that represents more of the worker placement style board games instead of dice rolling board games? Or a combination of the two?

I like the size of the icon... but as described in the design brief, I don't want the slogan incorporated into the logo. Can you keep the size of this icon and use it with the BGHQ of the similar logo you produced? So the BGHQ is the same width as the logo?

Nice creativity. However this looks more like a puzzle logo than something that represents board games.
