Hi - Here's my initial idea. I went with something that had a 20s-era feel to it (basing it off of the inspiration for your name) The bee is hand-drawn, as are the fleurishes - both intended look slightly asymmetrical, to reflect the artisanal qualities of your cakes.
I've used two fonts in the logo - not sure what you meant by being "able to manipulate them in Word", though. Just so you know, all of the logos are created as vector-based artwork / .eps format in a vector program - so none of them will be editable in Word. The type will be flattened into shapes (although, I'm sure you could obtain the fonts and position your own type over the images in Word). Just clarifying in case there was some confusion. :)
Any changes you'd like to see or feedback you may have will be greatly appreciated.
Here are revisions from feedback. I re-drew the wings to make them look like 4 separate wings that overlap. Also added some engraving lines for different texture and authenticity. Removed the fleurishes, but left in the lines, I thought it was a unifying feature that helps relate to the image linework, if that makes sense. I've also got a version with just the bee alone tat could be used for mini-branding marks (bugs - haha), stickers, labels, napkins, etc.
Here's a more graphic-style illustration of the been. Still detailed, but less clinical? Let me know if that's better or if I should keep working. Thanks! josh
Thanks for the kind words! Is this what you were looking for? Isolated & independent of other graphics? I made the fill color a light gray so you could get an idea of how it would look low contrast. Anything else you want to see, just let me know! :)
#30 / #32 I know this might be too far of a leap, but I thought it could be pretty cool and a little more iconic than a bee. 20s Style flapper in a "bee dress" holding a cake cup.
Here's a quick idea I had - the might look better inside of a banner of some sort (similar to the type of ribbon banner that "EST 2010" is in?) But it's very clean, legible and easily applicable to any medium. :)
can you clarify robotic? Is it the circles on the knees?
Did you want a completely new bee or a variation on this one? or should I try and make one similar to your current bee? Also (sorry - last question - promise!) Do you want the stinger present on the bee? I've been omitting it because it doesn't seem very "customer friendly" and, to me anyway, makes it feel more like a wasp/hornet. What are you guys' thoughts?
here are some bees without the circles for the knees (although...I think I like them better with the circles - it put more emphasis on the knees and referenced the origin of the phrase...and it looked cool :) haha)
I also added a simple art deco-era frame for variety sake
Sorry Josh, I have 2 partners and we are disagreeing on theme. Its still reading as fly to them. Can we lose the legs and the line on the thorax? different shape wings?
Any chance we could see the bee from #27 straight on like the new bee?
new bee similar to existing. I drew the wings to be abstract whisks. The colored version (I thought this could be really cool on the window) is supposed to resemble stained glass
awesome - glad you like them! I think something unique to you/the business will go a lot further with customers than something that looks cookie-cutter. Lightened up the body outline.
