I want the text to remain large, but want it to be "attached" to the logo oval by a background shape.

Put an outer oval on this and I think it's good!

Try a background shape behind the type so that this logo can be placed over a photo or color background.

This is the right direction, and I really like your artwork for the hands.

But I already have many entries in a circle.
Please try some other container shapes.

Also, try making the type larger. Or even have it break out of your shape.

On all designs, please remove the type "BDC 38th handshake".

Design the type "Building better for 38 years" around your artwork.

On the shaking hands, make the sleeves casual, maybe with a casual-type cuff. No formal suits.
