I was going for a more modern look that an actual person. More like the Fitness centers here that are large national chains like LA Fitness and such. Thank you
Thanks. Need to understand this is a single location community based operation. Would like people to understand the offering somewhat by looking at the symbol.
Okay. Just thought the ideogram style logos are so old and that a more modern approach is more in keeping with your target audience. Plus your name says fitness and squash so a pictogram is redundant. Still want you to be happy. The shape I made shows the intensity of the game plus it loosely represents all the letters b h s and f.
Thank you Brett. During this phase I would have to be in the top five to submit. I think it looks pretty cool too. Let me know how to make it perfect for you.
Thanks Kent. The series is very interesting. One of the issues for us is the possibility that we will change the business name in the future to something more catchy. We like the style but wonder whether you could reposition the character so that a name change could be done if we choose. Also, could we then consider a main logo - Baulkham Hills Squash & Fitness, and then "sub" logos in the same format with just the words Squash (character with a squash racquet), Swimming (character with some googles), Gym (with a dumbbell). These could then word as icons on a webpage or the back of business cards.
Definitely could move the main character if you did change the name. But since it looks so cool and says it all I can see this being franchise worthy and the name sound great. All you would have to change would be the location. I'll keep working on it.
As I said we like your design. For your information, I am donating this logo to my friend who owns the squash centre. The idea came about as he is compiling a calendar that he will sell with proceeds to go to a charity in the local area and I said his logo could do with a makeover. Thats background for you.
We have been less responsive with feedback than I would like because I have had to relay information to him.
Anyway, we would like to have you refine this idea of a series.
Could you do a couple of things for us. We would like to use entry #72 as a base logo for this business - the logo on business cards and the home page of the website.
Then we would like to use the other logos on the back of cards and on different pages of the website to represent the offering at the centre. So could you change those logos so that the squash one just says "Squash", the one with the dumbbell says "Gym" and the other one "Swim".
Lastly, we would like to see if there is some scope to incorporate more colour into the logos, perhaps also representing the type of activity.
I like #72 also. That is very generous. Sure I can make those variations for you. Would you want to color code them like make the dominate color blue for Swim and Orange or Green for Squash and possibly another color for Gym?
Could we try the characters staying green through all logos. With the "Squash" one maintain the primary logo colours of green. With the other two leave the grey Gym and blue Swim wording those colours and change the character to the green colour in each case.
Hi Kent. We're definitely on the right track here. But we are a little unsure about colours. We think we like the green character. We wonder whether "Squash" should be green too. Or perhaps the other colours are not quite strong enough. Could you consider.
Also there are some minor alignment issues with the text v. character.
Lastly, would we get eps files for each variation?
Sure thing Brett. I would gladly make these modifications and you can have the variations. I will provide EPS files. The winner through LT and after approval the variations can be sent via email.
We think we like the original colour scheme for the names, but think we need a brighter colour for the character. Maybe Red or orange - something that signifies activity. So original green with blue outline for base and variation logos. So Gym etc. in green with blue. Just a separate coloured character.
Bit bewildering for us non-designer types, hence the delays.
I know I have struck that before. I have organized them like that for convenience.
The owner likes the logos. Can we get a couple of minor changes before we finalize. Can you wind up the colour intensity a bit. For some reason colors I get off this site seem flat. I have seen that in other comps too. Not a criticism.
Also, could we get the squash racquet and ball in the same grey as the barbell. Also it looks a bit like tennis serve. Could you place the ball between the racquet and other hand but slightly in th air above.
Lastly, could you have a look at the word placement. In some cases they touch they character. In one there is a slight gap.
