Discussion

#21 The oval is the one I think. What are your thoughts with the word armory. Do you feel that is the best font or should we go a bit larger or thicker font. I think the seperation of the font from the BattleAxe font is good.

Thoughts ?

I agree man, I think it should be separate from the Battle Axe. Battle Axe is like your brand and the word armory is more of a descriptor...I will upload a bolder version (larger too). Probably need to anyway for embroidery ant other type applications if you choose this version.

Thanks

Can you send me one without the black background ? I understand that in various print arrangements the black has a huge impact, but in several arrangements, we will be using this as an ingraving on various items, stand alone decals, t-shirts and other things where we may not have a black background.

Also, can you send one over where the colors are inverted so we can see what it will look like from a filled engraved look. For example, if the logo is stand alone without the black background, what would it look like with the colors inverted blacks are whites and greys .... and whites are blacks. i don't know if I am explaining this correctly, but I would like to see the axe portion especially inverted. Hope I am not confussing you.

I really like all versions of this logo, but did not want to appear biased in the rankings. I know they ask to rank designs from others to give them a chance so that is why I didn't place all of them up front.

It's ok, even if you rank all of mine, when it goes into the Top 5 mode...only the top 5 designers will be allowed to submit entries not just the top 5 ranked designs). So basically a designer who is ranked 7th or 10th for instance can still enter.

#48 is that what you were envisioning?

Yes ... exactly for the inversion, but I wanted to see one as is without the black background to see how it will look with the colors you had. I like the color shading but wanted to see what it looked like without the black behind it.

The inversion is good since it will be represented on the engraving. If it goes on a black weapon we may fill with white or tan camo for the contrast that will look good.

For some reason, the format listed on this project is for the EPD format or whatever that is. I'm sure it's not a big deal, but we can accept all of the formats.

Do you do freelance work after this. Might want to begin a relationship to get some designs completed.

Let me know.

Yes, I freelance. Probably typo on the EPD. Has to mean EPS (vector format). I can provide any and all formats if needed.

Thanks!

Yes ... EPS. We will need this, but would like all of the other formats also. PDF ....etc. I'm not a graphics head but know enough to be dangerous. My biggest immediate need would be to resize the logo's for email signatures, business cards, letterhead items and the sort. I know PDF's work sometimes, but what would your suggestion be for someone the doesn't have Photoshop. What program do you you use to design and do you have a novice recommendation ?

Immediate freelance work would probably be a home web page or trade show backdrop banner. Do you have experience with these ? If so, can you email me links or examples. scott@mihiadvisorygroup.com

Thanks ....

Yes to all the above.

The eps file should be used at all times when possible (printing, large format, banners, trade show graphics etc). I can supply other formats for web use, email signature (jpg's, png, gif, etc).

I use adobe illustrator to design in. Not really a novice program but you could find your way around it given sometime. There are other programs like Photoshop or Photoshop Lite that may be easier to navigate. Difference is...photoshop is a raster base program (pixels) so when you increase the size of a graphic/file it will become bitmapped/pixelized and will not reproduce at a quality you will want. Basically it will look low res.

illustrator is a vector base program. You can increase/decrease a graphic without it becoming low res or bitmapped. CorelDraw is another popular vector base program as well.

Hope that helps!
