Thanks for the quick turnaround. I like the white blocks of a spine accross the top. I think EAP is over-emphasized -- I would like the word Backbone to be more noticeable. I don't think I like the metallic treatment or the purple background. Not sure if I like it being inside of a rectangle or not.

Another idea: I'm not sure if this meter like thing can be incorporated into a logo and still look like a spine:

Regarding #2, I notice a few things:

1) the word backbone ends with the letter E, and is immediately followed by EAP. EAP kind of blends in as if it were part of the word.

2) The spines now look like a flag. Oh well, I guess the meter idea didn't make sense anyway.

It doesn't have to be a spine. Here are some other words that might inspire ideas: network backbone or internet backbone, infrastructure, platform, framework, architecture. I'd like to see a bit more complexity, like the logotournament logo of the Colosseum. If we keep the spine, maybe do something fancy with EAP like in this logo:

The logos from the other two designers (so far) put EAP beside Backbone and it looks good the way they did it. If you make a logo with text similar to theirs, and the spine along the top (edge to edge) then I will rank it. Thank you

Regarding entry #6 -- nice! I like that it spells out what EAP means below. I would like to see this with the "Oracle font" shown in entry #5, which might need to use color for each word since everything is upper case. I'm not sure if it is OK for me to ask for that since I already told that designer I liked the font and color, but not the logo.

I'm not so keen on that font, and anyway, I don't have it - but I do have something similar, a bit less contrived in my opinion - this is a bit more subtle - and it solves the uppercase problem. I'm going to look at the links you sent now as well. Thanks for the feedback. husk.

Regarding the font, I'm not decided yet. Maybe #7 isn't right, but #6 seems a bit plain to me. Overall I do like this logo. I can imagine a Flash animation where information about different platform features appear as you hover over each of the backbones.

I think once we find the right font, we have taken this logo design as far as we can. Thank you

For each of the following product names, please do logo #6 but with a different color backbone for each. I want to see that it is versatile.

Backbone EAP - Enterprise Application Platform (Red)
Backbone ECM - Enterprise Content Management (Blue)
Backbone WCM - Web Content Management (Orange)
Backbone CRM - Customer Relationship Management (Green)
Backbone ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning (Purple)

Feel free to change the colors.
