Does the perspective view I just uploaded to the contest page (img_3578) help you with some better perspective ideas for the house shape? Does your typeface come in a slightly squarer shape? What if we killed the ground plane (bottom horizontal line)? How do you feel about throwing in some bumps to represent the mountains - maybe over the type? Too busy? Your call.
yeah that helps, let me see what i can do with it. let me did around some fonts. i will look at losing the plane, not sure we need it either the mountains might get busy I'm trying to keep it clean for cutouts and engraving you mentioned but let me see, there might be a subtle way to add them
Also, any really cool, slightly more square typefaces in your library we should consider? The round letters are lost on our house (which as you see, has NOTHING round going on).
Somewhere between #38 and #86 you have a winner. Maybe another shot at typeface (?) I love your "less is more" design but it (here I go again contradicting myself) needs more (gulp!) : ) - Rich
Are you still "in" on this contest? I'd love to see some variations in typeface and a variation of #38 (no need to reverse white on gray) wherein you adjust the lines of the house so there's less wall (roof is closer to text) and maybe the left roof (garage) isn't so prevalent? Just some tweaks. I really like this but feel it needs a little adjustment for us to consider it for our winner, THANKS - Rich
ok uploaded some options, tried a few type designs and played with the house. i think what i liked in the beginning was not showing too much detail to convey the vibe of the house, i like these options simple IMO its more modern
Yep - agreed. These are all sweet. We're going to look at each of them and figure out which combination is or final finalist - get back with you shortly.
I think we'd like to see the "house" from #148 with the letters from #151. Can that type be narrowed slightly (or heightened slightly)? Also, we'd like the mid cross on the "A" to be moved slightly to the right and possibly tilted 9.5 degrees CCW (parallel to roof lines). We'd also like to see the mid cross on the "E" with the same possible treatment (slid to right slightly to isolate from vertical spine of "E" and rotated 9.5 degrees CCW). Also, on the house, instead of perfectly rounded cap ends, maybe a little shaper corners and ends? This is very cool! Very close. Thanks for jumping through hoops. - Rich
Oh - and could you move AT 2170 to below ASCENT and change it to read "AT 2170 WINDCLIFF" (Not sure if uppercase or lowercase best for that just yet) I cannot figure out that "AT" yet. There's something cool we can do there but it just hasn't clicked.
Let's go back to #148. Feel free to reintroduce the offset, angled cross of the letter "A" but let's deemphasis the A and the S by making sure the vertical lines of the house are offset from the A and the S somehow (not lined up). What is that typeface? If it's a common one, I won't worry about having you nail down the "at 2170" or "2170 Windcliff" portion of the logo (I'll take care of that afterward). But if it's a custom typeface, please do work some options on that. Also, can you please throw me one quick version with the word, "ASCENT" turned upward (rotate text 90 degrees CW)? My architect prefers your logo. I think my wife does too. You know what that probably means... ; ) Wonderful work, by the way. You are very good at this! - Rich
hey thanks for choosing my logo. i am glad it represents your vision for the new place. let me know if you need any other formats or and file types. and if i can help out with anything else just let me know
Sorry, Jason! I could not find any way to communicate with you. LogoTournament has really screwed up the new "management" system. I'm sorry. I've been hunting and hunting and this is the only area I can find to communicate with you (this is my EIGHTH logo tournament and I've NEVER had this problem!). They also don't email contest owners updates any more. And their "profile" and "settings" sections give me no where to update my alert settings or whatever. OMG. They need to fix this. Not your fault, I realize. But maybe you have more pull than I do. Their new update is BROKEN. I hate it. Okay, enough of that. Congratulations - great design, but I CANNOT open your files. .jpgs are useless - please don't waste your time. I need .ai and the version I have here at home now that it's a weekend is CS5. Can you please make me a CS5 compatible .ai file? And send it via e-youknowhat to rich then letter c then the at symbol then sky tec air and the thing that we put at the end of 99% of such addresses. Sorry for the code, but I'm sure LogoTournament forbids me doing that. Grrrr. Thanks! Also, I'll need to know the typeface/font you used in that logo in case I need to adjust it. Thanks!! - Rich
