#61 introduces an oval and I really don't think anything on this house conveys anything but straight lines (no curves anywhere). Could you maybe work with more of the lines coming off the "A" and "T" and maybe bring in the roof slope as an upward reaching design element? Love this look! - Rich
Wait, can the T be crossed by a roofline like our home's roofline (upward slope) somehow!? Can the T emulate the house/roof? lines? I'm seeing this is VERY close!
Start the "roof" line at either the tail of the "S" or "C", bring it up and cross the "E" with it, cut the "N" with it (not sure if this will actually work) and top the "T" with it with the EXACT amount of overhang as the homes roof overhangs (and at same slope) ?
This may look cooler in my head than it does in reality, but ...
YEAH! FREAKIN-YEAH! #74!!! Okay, look at the "N" - it's the fireplace of the house! Now, can we get away with adding the upper volume roof line above that (paralleling the diagonal roofline you just added)? Too busy? Can you get two lines moving there with out clouding up the effect you've achieved?
Yep, just as I feared - less is more. Maybe move the single slant line around and see if you can introduce any other vague/stylish/simple elements of the house to the design (make the "N" the chimney? I dunno). I feel like this design is "right there" - it just needs --- ?
Thats fine, i also agree it could do with a ???? , but i will try some additions and will upload again, unfortunately it will be tomorrow now as its late in UK and i just left my PC :)
Good, morning, Brit design genius! Well done. Well freakin' done! I forget, did we try tilting the slope of the T cross like the roofline of the house (yeah, I realize it puts it "way up there" heigh wise so you can clear the N). Just curious. Love the "dot" for the fireplace...or window...or...great simple element. You definitely win the "less is more" design contest. Hands down! I still think we have tweak ability in here. You'll be top five. Smoke 'em if you've got 'em. See ya in finals. THANK YOU! - Rich
Alright. Couldn't help myself. I just photoshopped your #113 with the upper cross of the "E" extending over the "N" to cross the "T" to emulate the exact angle of the roofline of our house (9.5 degrees) and perched the "chimney" block on top in line with the ascender of the "N" - it looks GOOOOOD Wish I could show ya - but I'm sure you can whip up equivalent.
Take the top horizontal line of the "E", piviot it on it's left point, rotate it 9.5 degrees (CCW) and extend it to overrun (and cross) the "T" Adjust the "N" (if necessary to look best - your call) and top the ascender of the "N" with your "chimney" square basically just like #113. Cool, glad that is right, it looks pretty neat IMO :) The at is in fact custom, but i can use an alternative for you too, i will upload a couple more options shortly :)
#157! Okay, we just reversed course - the inverted "V" for "A" effect wins again so we remain uppercase for "AT" but can you cut the "0" of 2170 on #157 so we don't lose that center when we cut it in steel? And just for kicks, since you're doing a custom typeface, would you be willing to add the word "WINDCLIFF" ( "AT 2170 WINDCLIFF") - It'll fill the space better - don't forget to "cut" the "D"
