actually that was meant to be letter A as the initial letter, do you want me to tweak this design more ? but since your contest is already on top 5 phase it means only top 5 ranked designers can submit more designs.

It's a great start, I like font that is less bold. I also do not mind if the anchor is incorporated into the wording. Looking more for subtle elegance vs bold lettering with a bold logo.

Absolutely, it does not need to be an emblem, Open logo like wordmark or icon are perfectly acceptable.
