very wrong concept i know. just wanted to get the contest rolling

Thanks for getting the ball rolling. I like the emphasis on the chapter name by making the Akron large and the national organization name small. I like the blue and I like the purple, with a white backgroung they look good not sure how they would transfer to anything other than white.

The tree is a nice idea ... has a certain "authenticness."

#6 and #7 made the blue lighter and purple is bit lighter too. what it gives is that ifusing on a dark background (black here) it will work better. dark logo on a dark backround is not good to use

and colors can be change at any time.

not sure about how the company name should be writen, is Akron the main part or is it Akron Area that should be bigger?
