Entry #2 and Entry #13 each have awesome elements! Sweet! Thanks for throwing so many brainstorms at the contest so quickly! I really like the text spacing in #2 and the simplicity of #13 would definitely lend itself better to use in embossed aluminum. I definitely think the final logo is going to have wings. Keep working on the wings - maybe try straight out and curved upward a little more? Good starting stuff!
Denzu, I almost disregarded #10 at first glance, but now am starting to wonder if it couldn't be developed to have a clearer "A" and "F" and maybe imply an upward movement/aviation/flight concept. ??? Crazy?
#24 and #25, can we see what a more level (horizontal) wing would look like? - Maybe just turn the tips of the wings up at the end of each one instead of a steady curve throughout. I'm starting to wonder if a more horizontal wing design isn't what we are looking for. Excellent! Thanks again.
What if #26 was placed in a circle or oval with wings coming off the circle or oval and the A E R O F A C T O R text below? Can the A-F logo interact with it's framing circle or oval (touch into it) so that we can CUT that design out of aluminum without losing any "holes? Does this make sense? Think of stencils or something where you are cutting the logo out of paper - you need to leave a little bridge in everything so that the trapped centers of letters like "A" don't just become missing triangles, etc. I hope this is helpful/sensible. ; )
Thank you for the feedback. Created a few new variants, but I must say, I love this one: #32 Because its so simply but there you can find A, F and wings... Btw, about #26 I was trying put it into circle before, but the result was awful, thats why I dont show that. Like in our country people say: like pig and cuckoo.
Yes, I agree #32 is beautifully simple. I'd like to see some variations on it - just to be sure - can we tie the wings together with a "flag pole" that flanks the A and helps form a slightly more literal "F" as well as the "A"? Or is it just getting too busy?
Also, #23 and #26 are still worth working with. We might be on to something with those too. How can a wing-like effect be added without taking too much away from the simplicity?
And pig and cuckoo translates to one of the funniest things I've ever read! That's fantastic! I totally relate. HA!
And just so you know, I am traveling later today and have asked my teenaged children to monitor the new submissions and rankings. They are very interested in this product we are developing - in fact, they are helping me develop it - it is a product geared toward teen agers like them so what they think probably means more than what I think. So if you see some contrasting ranks or comments, you'll know those may be coming from my kids. We will make the final decision on the winning design together when I'm back in town.
Thanks. I think, I dont want to change #32. As you told, its getting too busy... (My motto: less is more.) And if these parts not connected, then you can use this kind of logo in different ways. Stamping, embossing etc, without losing small details. And I think, this work very well on coloured or negative bacground too. I will show you.
