Here is my entry. I am designing as full color for now, but the colors can be reduced. Is there a reason in particular, that you are requesting 2 or 3 colors only? The reason I ask is that, if the concern has to do with printing and costs, full color printing is much more economical to print than a 2 or 3 color job. (Please see my profile.)
On the other hand a 2 or 3 color logo is more traditional of us older designers :) But because of today's technology, it is also more expensive to print on traditional offset presses.
Please let me know if you have any changes you'd like to see. Feedback is always appreciated.
Thanks for the questions about colors. Ours is just a stylistic preference. We like colors a lot, just not primaries or bolds mixed together. I've liked so many logos I've seen on the site in general. I like a sage green with white and black, or dusty rose with neutrals, lime greens with a sunny light yellow and white, or chocolate brown with light dusty blue. A red might also work as an accent. I like so many combinations that it's impossible to list them all. i just don't like say kelly green mix with royal blue. Or red and royal blue. I might like a light turquoise with red however. No orange! No orange and yellow for sure! Definitely no orange and brown.
I like your design better than the other owls on the site. They have more character. I'm starting to think I might prefer black owls in silhouette flying in the back of the name. I think the whole look we've gotten so far is too cartoony. Think nature owls instead.
I'd prefer a font that isn't such a traditional school letter-man jacket style. We do like that the "A" and "I" are bigger than the other letters.
Thank you so much for taking such a great interest in our contest! I think I'd like to see your work in different colors. I'd like a brighter and lighter green. I wonder what colors you might suggest.
Entry 16 is my favorite of yours. What if the owls weren't sitting on the diploma? I think the diploma might be a little too predictable. What if they were just there in the middle of the world? Could it have a splash of another color in it as well?
One more thing, I just saw entry 22 for some reason. It moved ahead of entry 16 because it's a bit more dignified. I like the colors more in entry 16 though. I prefer open clear colors that still aren't really primary.
