Thank you John for selecting my design! I am looking forward to working with you. I will be uploading your files within the hour for your approval.
I also emailed you since we can communicate there now
Thank you, John!
I look forward to working with you too!
Will watch for your return.
Once you finalize your contest I'll be able to upload the logo for your approval. Then I'll email all file formats to you and any acorn in this logo that you would like. We can communicate via email at that time
Thank you again!
Tere
Thanks for the help Tere. Your logo is the winner. I’m on spring break with the family but will make it official tomorrow. Look forward to working with you. Thanks again. Beautiful work. John
I just uploaded 2 different possibilities for you.
I need to leave for the day so will check back with you this evening.
If you can think of anything else that you would like to see that hasn't been done let me know.
It is harder for me to check all the designs against every change I make now that it is not in blind phase anymore. At least in the blind phase I feel safe with any concept choices.
Have a great day!
Thank you!
Thanks Tere. I understand the rules. I thought if I asked, you could do it. It was his design, so I won’t press it. Thanks for setting me straight. John
Hi John,
I just noticed the designer itok in 1st has done this. If it was their concept and you didn't request this, I won't be able to do that for you. But I can try other positions for the box.
Let me know.
Hi John,
I'm back but need to leave in a couple of hours again : )
I like them both. I would say that it will depend on the colors and background on your website which is best.
I you are ready for all your corporate collateral, then I would say the black line because I am sure it will stand out with any color. The rectangle is filled with white if you choose a dark background.
All variations of the logo are yours also, when you choose your design.
The acorns can also be used by itself for an added element and accent placements.
I'll be watching if you would like to see any other variation.
Thank you
Terre
Hi John,
UhOh! I was looking at the other acorn woodworks! I guess we definitely need to get rid of the tan inside the rectangle and the tan background because that is what they have. You would be confused with their business.
I can always adjust the colors to complement your website when it launches.
Do you want the est date completely off or change it to another date? 1994? is that it?
Thank you!
Tere
i like this one and 154 a lot. can you change the est date to 1994? fyi, my website is not active yet. acorn is a less than original name in woodworking (not that i knew that 24 years ago when i named my shop that). :-)
On these two entries I worked with your website layout and colors. I can't post your wood grain background but showing some colors from it. The illustration is more fine art style rather than graphic style.
The complementing color is with the warm tones and also was in the window frame in one of your photos.
Colors and illustrations may be adjusted.
I'll add on entry with the acorn with the leaf.
Thank you!
thanks tere. yes, 131 is a fav and ranked third currently (although i think my rankings are simply the logos i like, not sure the order is etched in stone). for your newer entries (141-146) they are mostly brown/black. the red was my wifes suggestion, but i'll gladly look at any color ideas you have.
Also on your website the wood seems to have a modern feel with the subdued natural colors. I may try a complementing color (which would be in the blue tones) to the wood tones for you.
The complementing color will help your logo stand out rather than get lost in the brown hues.
I appreciate your input.
Thank you!
Hi John,
I was thinking about your comment in your brief of using red. I have kept your original colors to keep it subdued. Red is a hot and a impact color. Let me look at your audience again. Red would be good. I used a little red in the acorn you have in 3rd or that reason. But let me see if I can use it a different way for you. Is it my 3rd place design that your prefer?
I'll try it on the ones you prefer to see what you think.
tere ... i ilke the designs you've recently sent. they are very different than what i was thinking about, but that's good, you're pulling me out of my comfort zone. question for you ... i want the company to be viewed as classic, traditional, hence the subdued colors. that said, from a design perspective, do you think it needs a dash of color? i have zero creativity so am relying on the experts. thanks, john
Hi John,
Here are these adjustments.
The red in the acorn was as you suggested. Maybe suggesting a mahogany or cherry wood stains.
The layout, size of illustration, font sizes can all be easily changed if you like something on one and not the other.
I normally don't leave the letter behind the illustrations but this seemed to work with the acorn.
I also uploaded one without the "o" behind it.
I'll watch for your response throughout the day.
Thank you1
Hi John
Sure, I will rework those for you today and resubmit them.
I think it is a matter of how you are using your logo. For you letterhead that needs a horizontal layout it will be good with your name on one line also. but on your cards a vertical layout will be great.
I'll try to have something for you in a couple of hours and we can go from there if you want to see something else.
Thank you!
tere, thanks for your submissions. i like 102-104, but feel like the logo gets to "long" with the entire name on one line. thoughts about stacking the words? thanks, john

Also, added your est. 1991 since it is important.

I thought about making every "o" an acorn, but might be a visual overload.
Is there anything you would like to improve on this? Let me know.

I thought the wood grain on the acorn would have a second glance since they don't have a wood grain.
Your input is appreciated.
Thank you!
