Thanks much for your excellent work. In the end, it's a close call, but we are going with another design. We had a meeting yesterday and said we would love to work with you in the future on something else. I hope we get that chance. Thanks again.
No, these are beautiful. We have a problem we can't solve, so I was sharing the question with you. We can't figure out how to have the notes at different heights, but not have the faiths at different heights. It seems to be impossible. I entirely admit that there is no clear instruction here. We don't have the answer, so, since you are creative, I thought I would share the problem with you, too. We don't expect you to have an answer that we don't have, but thought we would at least share our predicament.
This is beautiful. The issue for us is that our tagline says "harmony is greater than unity," but notes that are at the same height are the same note, so that's unison, not harmony. On the other hand, it is extremely important to have the faith symbols at the same height so we are not subtly saying that one is better than another. I don't know the way forward with those two problems. It seems like they are mutually exclusive. Any ideas?
So with this particular design, we don't have any indication of music. It doesn't have to be a music note, it could be a guitar or a drum, or....? But we need to communicate music. I like the abstraction of synergy that is communicated by the design, but when it shrinks down very small, the faith symbols will not be legible.
I’m sorry that we have been slow to respond and give you some direction so that you can do more of your impressive work. There are three of us weighing in here, and we are in different locations, and all traveling and working hard, so it’s been challenging getting all three of us in communication with each other, so that we can communicate with you! Sorry to leave you waiting.
I think the best thing we can do is to describe what we like about each of your designs, and where the stumbling blocks are. Perhaps you will have creative solutions to our dilemmas.
In some ways, what we are asking for is nearly impossible (i.e. communicating a great deal, and yet being extremely simple). So we will give it our best shot. We put you in first place because we like so many of your designs, but we’re still not committed to any one of them. Each has things we love, and also some things that we wish were different. In some cases, we don’t know the way forward, so we will describe the problem and see if you can come up with creative solutions.
Overall, we are trying to communicate “music, peace, the three faiths, and spirit (mystery, etc.).” We like that your color choices are subtle, mature, and a little bit muted. Your designs, in general, are classy. It is also essential that the logo still make sense when it is very small — 1.5 inches tall. Among other things, it needs to fit on a guitar pick.
I’ll make more comments on each individual design, and we will go from there.
Hi LeMarocain. We really love your work. This one ended up in third, but I think it's our starting place. We were extremely torn, because there were a bunch of great designers, but our love for your work in general led us to select you so that we can revise from here. Thanks for your work on this.
We actually like it a whole lot. It's one we keep discussing. There are others that are capturing our interest more right now, though. If we were to develop this one, we would want to make sure that all three faiths are even. We are conscious of making one bigger or higher than the others. I want to be respectful with your time, though, and I think this isn't the direction we will end up going.
LeMarocain, thanks so much! You do great work. The one that is catching our interest most right now indicates a combining rather than a separation between the faiths. It looks a bit like the three faiths are embracing in a circle. Does that help at all?
Since I'm no longer ranked as 1st, that means you've taken a new direction in the contest !
Could you please precise it to me because this is a blind contest so i can't see other designers submissions ?!
