The process is that you select your winning design. The files are then uploaded for your review, at which point, further tweaks can be made if necessary.
Once you're satisfied with the files, you notify LogoTournament that you have approved them, at which point the contest is formally closed.
We can then exchange contact details and I can provide you directly with whatever variations you require.
I have added a couple of variations with thicker contours - #259 and #260.
I think you're spot on about the original thickness - at small sizes, the lines are not clear enough. Both of the new variations work much better, even when reduced to 100px in diameter.
You might want to consider having multiple versions of the logo for different circumstances. One, for example, with thinner lines for when it is to be seen at 150px and above; and another with thicker lines for when it is to appear at 150px or less.
Some questions about the logo design.
How does it look at 100 pixels wide (or maybe 150 pixels)?
At that low resolution, would it make sense to do slightly thicker white lines?
Could we see some variations with the white lines in various thicknesses? This would apply to the regular horizontal logo (globe on left).
The lines were already yellow, but the fade to blue, coupled with the small preview size makes them appear slightly green.
I have extended the fade further to the right to try to make the yellow less green-looking (#256).
I wasn't sure whether you meant the white lower case 'd' from the icon, or the darker blue lower case 'd' from the text, so I created two variations, one with white lines (#257) and another with dark blue lines (#255).
Please see #246 and #247. #246 has the spotlight effect removed and #247 has both the spotlight and the gloss effect removed.
I am leaving shortly to collect my kids from school, but will be available through the rest of the afternoon and evening to respond to any requests for changes.
2. enlarged the graphic element and removed the shadow
3. tried, as far as possible, to use the colors used in the graphic element of the SoftNAS logo. Of the combinations I experimented with, this seemed to work best.
4. replaced the thicker, triangular contour lines with thinner contours and added darker 'see through' contours.

3. replaced the thicker, triangular contour lines with thinner contours and added darker 'see through' contours. I tried creating a transparent effect using the original triangular contours, but it seemed to me to be too 'busy'. I am continuing to look at this.
4. the nearside contours are now yellow and there is also a subtle yellow highlight to the base off the sphere - are these too subtle?
I have family plans this evening and a school sports event with my youngest tomorrow morning, so I will work on the updates late morning/early afternoon my time tomorrow.
Can we see a design element (sphere with the lower case "d" inside) using the color schema of the SoftNAS disk colors (left side of our corporate logo) are utilized with the dSphere design element?
He needs to be mindful of consistency in colors for branding and for other general costs.
This would be a variant design, as well as, the previous response to you earlier today.
Steve, so far the team likes youor design the best.
Here are some suggestions on modifying your design and also on variations.
1- Make the design element bigger and lose the shadow under it.
2- make the design more transparent if possible so you get the sense of seeing through parts of it to the other side (this may not be possible to do and have it still look good).
3 - Can you put some yellow accents into the design element to contrast the overall blue color pallet?
4 - Can you work with a slightly lighter color pallet for the product name: dSphere?
I think these suggestions should be taken into account when tweaking this design and creating variations.
Overall, the team and I are extremely impressed by your work.
Rotating the globe/sphere more towards the left to see more of the "d" and the ends of the arrows would be better.
Also, if you can do a variation with the actual lowercase "d" added to Sphere to make dSphere (still keeping the design element changes as indicated) might also be of interest to us.

Very nice - similar comments to the other variation.
I think turning the globe a tad more to the left so that the "d" is still more forward facing (can't really see the arrowheads clearly) would be great.
I think a variation of this with the globe/sphere to the left of the word "Sphere" and the globe/sphere not being quite so large would be another great logo.

#68 includes the re-sized icon. It's also rotated to be more forward-facing and has effects designed to make the sphere look more 3-dimensional.
The sphere design in #67 is identical. I have enlarged the sphere only because I know it can sometimes be difficult to see the detail in smaller icons when they are previewed at 350 x 280px.
I am working on ideas to embed the 'd' within the sphere and, if I have something that works, I will upload it later in the day.
I will upload the version without text first, then work on developing the sphere along the lines you have outlined.
I have used Handel Gothic for the main font, including the 'd', which has been customized to add the arrows. I might be wrong, but I believe it is the same font used for your corporate logo.
If not, do you happen to know the name of your font? Alternatively, if it is the right font, but you don't like one or more of the letterforms, I can make customizations so that it is more to your taste.
Hi Steve, If you can also make the word Sphere a bit larger then the globe with the "d" in it and match (as closely as possible) the font used in our corporate SoftNAS logo that would be great.
One variation would be to make the globe more 3D like in appearance. A great example of this is the ATT logo with the 3D globe you can see inside of. Another variation of the above might be to make it seem like the lowercase "d" is contained inside the globe. I'm not sure how and if that could be done. FYI - we would use this product logo complete (just like it was designed) AND also with just the graphic element (the globe/sphere with the lowercase "d" in it) for use on t-shirts and hats, etc... Hope this helps!

Are you able to show us a 100 pixel version to see how the lines look at that resolution?

Would you like them to be more noticeable?

Please change the lines going round to the color of the lowercase "d"
Also, please change the lines going round the design to yellow versus the greenish color that they are now.
Thank you

I have some family commitments for the next couple of hours, but will work on this afterwards.
I'll be in touch soon.
Thanks!

- Would like to see the lines go all the way around (right side of sphere).
- The yellow highlight at the bottom seems out of place.
- Perhaps add more drop shadow to the “d” so it stands apart a bit more
Can you modify the design (as a variant) to accommodate his requests?
Thank you.

I would remove the spotlight effect on the design element ... think of how well it could be put on clothing, as well as, Internet and Print.

I have rotated the 'd' and made the arrow heads more visible.
Also, I have experimented with an alternative letter 'r' in 'Sphere' - do you like this form better?
