Garlic is a bit too abstract, Needs to be more instantly recognisable as garlic. Font is a bit too plain for this style of logo. Needs to be more elegant and expensive. Thank you for the designs. All the best.
the vertical alignment of Walton and Garlic is off but I did that on purpose so that W and G fit together I'll work on this, but for now I am heading off line for the night. I am East Coast in Halifax.
I really like this design. I really like the text added across the top. I also really like all the fonts, you have used.
Overall, I am feeling the design is bit too masculine and it reminds me of beer. If I could suggest some changes, then I would ask to see a variety of color variations. Try and bring a more contemporary feel that is brighter. Maybe a simplified garlic icon in pure white would work?
Looking forward to seeing your next post. Great work, Scott. Well done.
#48 Nice work here, Scott. #48 has the POP factor. The colors are more vibrant and attention grabbing. The text is engaging and really adds value to the design. Could we try even more vivid colors? See if it can jump of the page. I like the garlic picture, it has a natural, authentic feel about it. I am also curious to see how another garlic symbol or icon would look on your design.
Don't worry about printing cost. Thanks for your fantastic submissions. Really good. All the best.
#63 I really love this logo. It has huge appeal to me. A couple of points - the garlic is not quite robust enough. In the world of garlic, this one is on the small side. We need to convey large, healthy garlic. One suggestion that might work is to enlarge the garlic enough so that it fills the entire centre circle. Move the words BC Canada into the orange ring and remove the ring of garlics. The font is perfect. Really good. Spot on. Another factor has come up - the color purple might enhance your logo. It would be great to see an orange, purple and white (perhaps a little red?) version.
#75 Good potential with these design. The same factors that affect #63 also affect #75. I like your forward thinking when you added the text about hand made braids, however, I have decided not to include anything specifically about braids because some of our business does not relate to braids.
All the best, Scott. I appreciate your thoughts and efforts. Thank you.
Thank you for the latest submissions. I'll cut straight to the chase. Your designs #149 and #63 are very popular and well liked. The recurring negative is that the garlic is too small and a bit funny looking because of the stem. We need to convey large, healthy, quality garlic. Your garlic does not convey that.
I have appreciated all your work, creativity and efforts. Your logo's are awesome. The colors, text, layout, text is all spot on. I am not sure how much work you are able to put into this logo but any efforts should be directed squarely at improving the garlic. With a large, healthy, attractive garlic bulb sitting proudly on top of your emblems then your logos would be taken to the next level.
I am really confused over my garlic illustration looking sick...as compared to the other submissions. I thought you wanted robust over tall narrow and skinny.
Our customers prefer uniform, symmetrical, large garlic. Yes I want robust over tall and skinny. It is actually the relative size of the bulb compared to the stem. A smaller garlic tapers more gradually from the stem into the bulb, while a large garlic bulb will head out at basically 90 degrees from the stem.
Thank you for your interest, Scott. Hope this helps. Please ask for more clarification if needed.
The cut top is best. Green sprouts could indicate fresh out of the ground but it can also indicate an old garlic that really should have been planted about a month ago.
Huge, huge improvement on the garlic. Uniform and large! Fantastic. I will gaze at the new logo for a while and see if I come up with any new thoughts.
Once again, Scott your work is appreciated. Thank you.
#209 The logo is looking really good. I have a few ideas that I think might be an improvement. Can you try a red to orange gradient sky like the sun rising behind the mountains. Perhaps, BC Canada could be a little bolder.
Adding the mountains has been a really good enhancement, Scott. Thank you. All the best.
I think the latest design is just excellent. I have to ask if it is possible to place the design in the diamond shape background of #175 I am guessing the color would be purple with a gradient into light purple. What do you think?
In order for this to work the mountain range needs to appear further away and expanded. The position of the mountain range is more centred to the diamond shape so there is a good balance between the red-orange and purple, to high is it's too much purple...to low to much orange.
The Garlic remains the focal point it cannot be any larger it will complete obscure the mountain range and the sun, too small the mountain range would over power. The potion of the Garlic same effect as size, too high the range and sun is lost...any lower too much sky and mountains.
In a nutshell I use Pantone when working with solids and cmyk for gradients..in this case cmyk converted to RGB for viewing online only..the benefit to using cmyk saved as RGB for online is the color gamut remains in tact. Working direct in RGB is not best for 4 colour process, again there are many factors that effect colour reproduction.
Your monitor play a huge role if using a low end monontor (TN Panel) the colour gamut is about 75-78% accurate... A high end monitor such as Dell Ultrasharp *bit IPS (excellent) or Lacie IPS 10bit monitor (best) what you see on your display is probably not close to what I see on mine (Dell Ultrasharp 27inch Calibrated)
I can explain this in greater detail at a later date.
