My submission for your review
My apologies for th elate entry however I could not pass this opportunity up. To provide you with an outstanding idea. The icon is derived from "Pearland" which to me is significant enough to use a pear as the main icon.
the design is clean different than anything that has been submitted and hopefully you'll see the potential of this design as I do
