Thanks so much for all the entries that you have submitted. I really like the idea behind #81 and thin that the colors are every strong. Could you take a look at whether we could get the entire SD inside the quote bubble and see how that would look.

I also like the idea behind #102. I think it's too cluttered as it is, but the concept of people and bubbles is interesting to me and I would be interested in seeing more work along these lines.

I'm also very impressed that you took the initiative to do me a 'steveism' logo and if you end up winning the contest than I'd certainly want to talk to you about buying that design from you as well.

Thanks,
Steve

We really like #81 and #121 and perhaps you could show us some variations on color. On #121 could you try making the S & D a little closer together.

Thanks for everything you've done...we really like your designs.

Dear Mare,

Thank you very much for the designs you have sent in. You are very deservedly one of the five finalists, and I really appreciate all the ideas you have submitted.

I will be making the final decision over the next day or so but I haven’t made up my mind yet between a very strong field, including the varied designs you have sent in. It’s a shame I can only use one!

I like the "quote bubble" because it picks up hat this is my writing site in a way that none of the other designs do, and I'm leaning heavily towards that as the winning entry. I prefer the SD in it to just the S, and I like the colors of 168 best of the "bubbles". I also very much like the energy in the colors of your latest entry 180, and I'd like to see some more variations of the colors I like inside the bubble.

Thanks again, and I'll definitely also talk to you after the contest about something around "Steveism".

Best Regards

Dear Mare,

We are getting very close now and I very much like the idea that you have come up with for the Quote bubble. I like a combination of blues and whites as you have in the bubble as you have in #121, but where the blue is dark it could be a little stronger. I'd like to see a gradation from light blue at the top to a darker blue underneath with some texture or vibrancy under the color.

As far as the SteveDavies is concerned I think I like Davies in black and Steve in blue. I was wondering whether the blue of Steve could mirror the color bleed in the bubble? Thinking about it perhaps that approach could apply to the whole SteveDavies where the end of Davies is very dark blue or perhaps even black. I'm not going to be using the tagline or the .com as part of the logo, though I will be wanting to put the tagline on the end of the logo on the new website.

One additional thought I had about the bubble I like the treatments where you only have the S in there, but I do want the D as a visual as well. Could you see what it would look like with the bubble as a D with an S inside it? In line with the above thoughts, the S would probably be in white with a graduated blue background in the bubble.

I have you as #1 which means you can submit more designs and I would be very grateful if you would have a look at the suggestions above.

Thanks for your help.

Dear Mare,

Congratulations and thank you for all your efforts! We have decided to award you the prize, but before we finalize things I'd just like to get a final design that incorporates everything that we want, and we can then move to getting all the necessary files and also talk to you about adding taglines and doing a little work on the Steveism logo for an additional price.

Here's what we would like you to do. #207 works perfectly for the gradation of colors on "SteveDavies", but I'd like to see the blue one or two shades darker at the start of Steve as what you have used is a little too light. Similarly, in the bubble, I'd like the slightly darker blue there as well but keeping the gradation from blue to black. Is it possible to make the gradation within the bubble look a little less like there's a line between the two colors and have them bleed into each other? I realize that's what you tried to do already but if you could tweak it a little I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks again for all your help and we look forward to working with you on the final designs.

Best Regards,
Steve

I like the color better but I'd like to see it start darkening after the E of Steve and then having gradation through the V of Davies after which it reaches it deepest color.

Thanks!

Dear Mare,

I'm going to announce you as the winner. Congratulations, and thank you for being so responsive. What I want to end up with is the logo from 192 and the Steve Davies from 213 but I'd just like to see them together to make sure it all works. Please could you just do that for me and then I'll award the prize.

Thanks again!

Best Regards
