Interesting design, would like to see a building that looks more like ours, check out our website banner for an example, we have 100 stone chapel. would also like to see another example with the text on the right a more horizontal image.

Hi, I just did a general logo that's meant to convey a feel of your church, if I get into too much detail the logo will lose the impact. After all, you seem to prefer really simple designs.

Can you try a format with out the colored background. Thanks

Also, moving the cross from the roof peak in 10, 11, 23 to the bell tower on the right might make the tower look less like a chimney. Maybe make the hills in the background give the impression of trees instead (there really aren't hills around here despite the church name).

We like the direction this one is heading in. Is it possible for you to give us an alternative that utilizes or references the fleur de lis cross that we have used in the past?

Anna, for your background we are making these choices by committee so that is why we are looking for many options... Can you do a few more examples of the fleur de lis cross, the thoughts are make the color blue instead of green, make the cross smaller, and if you have another 1 or 2 other takes on the fleur de lis cross maybe one a little more modern looking.

Also on the building photo can you do a different look for the wording maybe a more horizontal feel, the color also highlight In-the-Hills which I think is the least important of the elements.

btw -- this is our first experiences with doing anything like this, so please forgive all the requests... we are all very excited though.

thanks again,

Hi,

We like 30, bout would prefer if it without the ring/halo thing around the cross. Can you give us an alternative that omits that element? And we like the blue options on this and the building version.

We like 25, can you do some different fonts and ways of arranging the text

Can you also change the highlight color from in-the-hills to St. Mary's and maybe even an example with Episcopal Church highlighted but not both.

Hi, I was informed by Logo Tournament staff, that the image of the felur de lis cross is not to be used because it is owned by someone else. ie: you do not own the copywrites to it.

I can still do the other revisions if you wish.

Thanks.

From our research the felur de lis cross is in the public domain, it is a religious symbol for st mary. The episcopal church has used this image for hundreds of years.

Can you find the image and attch that to the brief for me to use? It has to say it's public domain or rather that you own the copywright to it.

Thanks.

I sent a note to the admin, I do not have one for you to use, as this was what we wanted also was for someone to create a unique version of this for our use...

Anna,

This is what I got back from them,

The fleur de lis as a general concept is certainly a public domain image.

However, when a person creates a unique version of a fleur de lis for it's brand, the issue becomes an intellectual property concern. Much like coat of arms - of which many are protected by copyright.

There are literally thousands of potential ways to create a fleur de lis. Heraldic symbols and coats of arms are sometimes copyrighted so designers must use due diligence and care.

In the references you have shown me I see nothing so far that actually claims the images as they are are public domain. The fleur de lis as an entity is.

It's like taking a picture of the Statue of Liberty yourself and making a logo or tracing an image you find on the internet. One is good, one is bad.

So the point is - you can request fleur de lis, but you can't ask the designers to copy exactly an image of a particular one unless you own the copyright to the image.
Example: You take a picture of a fleur de lis on a general building scape, post it, and ask designers to copy. Ok

My conclusion on this is that as long as you don't use a clip art version we are ok? Do you agree?

I would like to have the version of the image with the cross in the center back, I like that one, I think it was the first one you did.

#36 can you do this image with a cross in the center like you did before? And kill the script we like the other font better. Can you also add another version in a dark blue color #10314d

#39 I like the way this looks but we do not like the script or the red, can you do version of this with the other font or one like it and use the origional color that you have in #25.

Can you also create this in another color maybe the #10314d also

Also one the contest ends tonight can we do any more changes to color or font or is what we have a final deal? Assuming of course that your is selected... Example, if the came back and said we love #25 but we need it to be a different color?

We are rookies at this and are not sure of the rules...

Also I would like to show the vestry what this might look like on the website, newsletter, business cards, and letterhead... Is it ok for me to save a copy and place somewhere to show the group?

Thanks again for all your time on this

When the contest ends, it goes into judging for seven days. If you wish at this time you can request further revisions of the 1st ranked designer. After the contest is over I can give you my email. Thanks!

About the cross, I realized after that the uniqueness of the art you provided was in the fleur de lis forming a sham rock shape in the negative spaces between the fleur. So that's what makes the image unique and that means you cannot use it for your logo. However any other designs with a fleur de lis cross shoudl be ok. Hope that helps.
