Alfred--thanks for submitting designs showing what the top hat and killer 'stache would look like--you clearly get what we're going for (slash read the instructions carefully =D).

We really like this start--a few comments to see how it looks with some changes. Please start with #21 when making your revisions.

MOTION: Would love to see what it looks like if we try to give squid.by a little more motion--e.g. maybe his tentacles are moving/adrift, and floating above the surface? I have a feeling we may want to keep him "standing" the way he is now, but would love to see what he looks like floating. Maybe even give him a *slight* tilt?

BUBBLES: Cute touch, but let's drop them for now to keep it simple (since the facial hair and hats we ultimately add will give it a splash of color and detail later).

PLAY BUTTON: can you add a "play" button since we're talking about video? Would be a quick way to indicate what the service is.

EYES: Not sure if this will work or not, but to see how it goes can you try making the eyes just slightly lopsided? Might end up making him look too crazy, but would love to see how it looks in case it works.

Keep up the great work and thanks for submitting the extra design showing what it would look like w/ hat/handlebar mustache!

- overall, we like the squid with fatter tentacles (22-24, 35) over the squid with feet
- design 35 looks great, but is it possible to use a more subtle mouth color? the red is a bit too strong and we would be interested to see this with a lighter/more subtle color

Alfred-

Great stuff so far- here are a couple of additional tweaks that would be helpful for us to see:

- Please start from design #39
- We LOVE the mustache and wand, but please remove both so we can play around with your logo and see how it would look with various accessories (similar to #41 but perhaps with the subtle mouth you used on #39)
- Please enlarge the logo and place it directly beneath squid.by
- Please remove the bubbles (like design #22) so we don't draw attention away from the squid.by name

Bigger eyes

(This comment references Entry #47)

Alfred--you're killing it. #47 is looking great--the bigger eyes totally work. A few questions/comments:

1. Can you add the shadow back in beneath #47, and add the logotype beneath the shadow? Also, please make sure the three aren't touching so we can move/remove them as necessary when we ultimately create variations of the logo.

2. When the contest concludes and you deliver final assets, would you be open to delivering one version with squid.by's palm open (as in #47), and one version with his palm closed (as in #39), but without him actually holding anything?

3. Lastly, we think you've pretty much nailed squid.by himself. We do like the current logotype, but would love to see one or two other final variations on the logotype if you're willing.

Either way, thanks so much for your enthusiasm and speedy work thus far. Really appreciate it.

Let me know if you would like a few more font ideas. Also yes I can supply the squid with hand open and shut at the end.

Alfred-

#51 is great! After reviewing the new logotypes (51-54), we like #51 the best.

So from here, there are no other changes we need for now, as long as you can still a) provide a logo with the closed tentacle/palm and b) make sure that the shadow, logo, and logotype are not touching in any of the final designs.

Thanks again for your responsiveness and good work!
