What We Do
The slogan above is just an idea. We are not necessarily married to it. SportsBettingReviews.com is a website devoted to reviewing online sportsbook sites. These are sites where users wager on sports such as football, basketball, soccer, tennis, baseball, etc. Our goal is to be recognized as an authority on these sites and to help guide users to the best places to maker online sports wagers.

The site has been in existence for several years and you can see it at (http://www.sportsbettingreviews.com), however, it is in the process of going through a complete redesign so will look nothing like what you see now. If I'm able, I will try to upload a JPG of the current working look and feel of the new redesigned site.

Here is a link to a PNG mockup of what the new site is going to look like:

http://betinternetsportsbook.com/sbr_mockup.png

you can see that we have a logo there, but it's just a working logo, we have no intention of using it. These are the primary colors of the site (blues and whites), so it would be good if you can use colors that would go well with the colors of the site.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We would like the logo to let the user know that we are a trusted source, but also that we are on the cutting edge.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

Lindsey, thanks. These are a nice effort, but they seem a bit plain. Once I see some more designs I'll be able to give a better idea of what it is I like. thanks for the quick turn-around.

Of the logos that have been submitted to date, we like #4 best, but while I realize this is early going, these are still not at the stage that we would be willing to go ahead with a logo. None of the logos are what we would call 'fully realized'. #4 has some clever elements, but it's still has a way to go. The fonts in all of these logos are pretty plain and boring. It looks like anyone could have selected them right out of photoshop. It would be nice if there was a bit of style associated with the font choices, colors, design, etc. The thing I like about #4 is that the image behind the words is somewhat slick and general, but it does look a bit like a football. I would like to see some other design ideas too.

Guys, I have seen some great/original logos on the pages of this site, I sure hope some of you will do some of this work on our logo.

I look forward to seeing more!

Hi guys, I would like to see a different direction here. Many of the logos on this site that are really like use text with a nice design and a logo/element graphic to the left or above the logo. The logotournament logo is an example of this. Some others I like:

The top 2 logos for GenTech at: https://logotournament.com/contests/gentech_llc

Some of he logos here: https://logotournament.com/contests/opulent_professional_services (some are pretty buy, but #29 is pretty good imho ad 33 is very well done.

https://logotournament.com/contests/bolgame -- a nice assortment of logo.

Guys, I feel that most of the logos that have bee submitted so far are either similar or very, very simplistic. In contrast, when I go to other contests I see so many professional and interesting designs that are varied in their composition. Perhaps it's still too early in the process or maybe I needed to pay more, but so far the logos are okay, but I would have expected much more choices to help us narrow down what we like.

It looks like the last two entries by Happy Design were an attempt to meet my last comments and I appreciate that. As I said, when I look at some of the other contests the variety and quality of the logos are really high, they seem quite different than the logos we have received to date.

Let me throw out two ideas that we have considered in the past.

1) incorporating into the logo the concept of 'The Thrill of Victory'. People bet on sports to win, and it would be great if we can convey to people that they will win if they follow our reviews. Some some type of logo which depicts a person with their hands over their head with their fists clenched. It doesn't need to be overly detailed, it could just convey victory.

2) another idea would be to use the concept of 'a stamp of approval' -- e.g., the user should follow our reviews because we give sites our stamp of approval. This could be in the form of an award, an actual stamp of approval, etc., etc.

These are just two ideas we have been throwing around since the process has started. I'm not suggesting that the logos so far aren't good, but I do believe that they are not great just yet and I would love to see other ideas. I was really impressed with some of the logos in the 3 auctions above -- especially the bolgame contest.

Two more points:

1) we do not require '.com' in the logo
2) we do not require 'Your sportsbook authority' in the logo

Hello,

Could you please post the image on a image hosting service? It seems i cannot access the website you provided in order to see the color scheme ...

Thanks anticipated,

Hi, there were some problems with our host this morning. It should work fine now:

I think #25 is the closest yet to what we are looking for -- of course we didn't know what we were looking for prior to seeing it and others. This is clearly an interactive process. I posted comments directly to this logo.

I extended the contest and asks the people at logotournament.com to up our amount to $300 with the hope of getting people to focus more attention to this. When I look at other contests I see many more logo ideas and the time put into each logo seems to be much more than in this contest -- many of these contests are for $250 or $300. I'm not trying to say that I don't believe things are going in the right direction, but there doesn't seem to be the same level of enthusiasm in this contest and I'm not sure why. I'm doing my best to give comments and be proactive. If there is anything more I can do, please let me know.

Well you can always invite the designer to enter your contest...and the best idea usually come at the end of the contest.
Good luck finding what you are looking for..Cheers

thanks , Paul. I did invite a few. I looked over your portfolio and love many of your logos. I would love to see you try again here. Take a look at my latest comments and especially look over what I said to the designer of #24-26 -- you'll need to click on the comment link under those logos.

It looks like the designers decided to vote to remove our #1 ranked entry. I can see that this guy certainly took many of the comments we made to others, but he also vastly improved on the others and was much more responsive to our wants. In fact, none of the other logos are even in the same ballpark in terms of what we want.

Now all of the designers have been taking bits and pieces of what others have been doing so I’m not really sure what the issue is. lml76 came up with a V design with a circle in the middle but every other aspect of the logo and the currently #1 design came from me giving directions, not from any creative element that was designed by a logo artist here. Only the #1 ranked bidder met all of my needs. He also improved on the V concept by incorporating the check idea which is more inline with our Review site. He also added the award to the top so it can look like:

- a V for victory
- a check mark
- a guy holding up his arms
- a guy holding an award in his right hand

It's really creative a versatile and is not a direct copy of any other design.

We were going to use the checks on the site to match the logo.

I really would have rather given the award to the #2 or #3 designer because they put in the most work but unfortunately the quality of their logos did not meet the level of #1. It's interesting that after I ranked this new logo #1 that he was removed since many of the other designers also took the V concept but they weren't voted off. And the other designers didn't even improve on it, they just copied it.

Please reverse this decision immediately. It is completely unfair and we just cannot use any of the other logos now that we have seen the other design.

Why do we like it over the others?

- He improved on the V concept (see above).
- Most of all the font design and style is extremely professional, authoritative and clear (most of the others are just too comic oriented. I have mentioned that the lettering of others was not what we wanted many, many times but the designers could never get it working just right. Sure the #2 ranked logo is pretty good, but once we saw the other logo we instantly knew he hit is just right).
- Composition -- the composition in #1 is beautiful. It's clean, elegant, sleek and works. It's exactly what we were asking for.

Again, I feel terrible about this. I know many of you have been working really hard, but what can I say. If I felt that other logos from designers were close, of course I would have used them, but in the end I have to use the logo that works best for us.

If I may, I think it would be better if you restarted the contest all-over again and eliminating all the designs with the 'V'. I don't know if this is possible but you can ask the admins. While you may be right that he vastly improved on the 'v' concept, I seem to remember that it was me who first used it and the others just followed suit. The concept has been laid down and the others are just copying. I don't want to be rude but CH admitted to not knowing what direction to take until I put up the 'V' concept.

Restart, eliminate all, don't use the 'v' concept. That in my opinion is more fair.

I know you came up with the icon, but he improved on it in our opinion. I feel terrible about it but I don't know a solution. I can go through most of the tournaments to date and many have similar concepts and ideas. I think the reason why most of the people voted for you in the dispute was because you showed them the one logo with your icon in the V position of Review and the two lines where 'Sports Betting' was on top and Review was on the bottom. However, these were not your design ideas, they were mine. If others knew that I think the vote would have gone differently. If I had chosen his design where he had the icon on the top and the words below it I think that the voted would have been much different. And you can't dispute that the placement of the icon and the order and placement of the words were my idea, not yours.

As for the V idea, I just don't see this as being proprietary from a legal perspective. Especially given the fact that Wolv turned it into a checkmark, added the award to the top right (which fulfills some of my requests) and actually used the font of the word 'Review'.

I'll also add that lots of other designers used checks and V's for days now and nothing was ever said and you never once complained until Wolv created such a wonderful logo and I chose it as #1. If you felt that you owned the concept and any use of a V or check in an icon was yours, you should have complained days ago.

I hate what is going on and feel terrible about it. I really wish you could have showed me a design that I liked best. We were never really that happy and had to guide you through the process and in the end, we thought your ending logo was pretty good but we never loved it. We felt that the font style and composition just didn't measure up to our requirements and we were surprised that the best logos we received here were not of the same quality as other top logos from other contests. It wasn't until this morning when we saw the new design by Wolv when we finally saw something that we truly felt was what we wanted. Everyone we showed it to agreed.

I'm not sure what to say here, but we don't want to use a different logo and I I'm fairly confident that while his icon is similar to yours, it is not a copy.

Look, the entire idea of this site is very tough on designers in my opinion. Just look through the contests. I see so many examples of designs that are similar to each other and artists improving on ideas of other artists.

The V icon in question, was what set the direction of this contest in my opinion. I still remember when you had to extend it because you're not seeing what you like. I'm being careful not to include any check marks so as not to cross the line with copying concepts from other designers. As you can see, I stuck with my icon. The icon is the one in question, irregardless of where it was placed. Sure it was your idea of placing it on the word 'reviews' but that was after I came up with the concept. It is clear to me that the other designs were an offshoot to what I have started. Please consider this point. After all, this is a contest and we're not doing collaborative work. If it was stated in the brief that we had to stylize the 'V' then it wouldn't be a problem. The other contests have this on their brief so you'll definitely see other contests that are similar although different in execution.

I wouldn't mind coming in last as long as it's completely and entirely different from what I have. These stylized 'v's came in as late entries and I would have complained before if I saw them. praetorian's and kooldog's entry are pretty much the same concept as mine and they came in late. i would've started an LC if it outranked mine.
