If you like the one there now then you can end the contest any time... 6 years ago I.D.ea Factory commented on #74 Straight line design, with an even more western stylized font, and the other icon, the star, arrow, sound wave icon, 6 years ago I.D.ea Factory commented on #73 I know legibility didn't necessarily get better with the font choice here, but it at least ties with the original treble clef I used better. I like the flow of this font, but I know you need quick recognition so hopefully it's legible enough for all ages. I put the state and star below it so it would be with the Fort Worth, TX lettering like a map placement. It also makes your name more important and the icon more secondary. 6 years ago I.D.ea Factory commented on #71 Thanks! 6 years ago drcwreed commented on #71 Thanks. That closer similarity between clef and text font does help. 6 years ago I.D.ea Factory commented on #72 This one is just a double stack version of the name with only one Treble Clef. I think the musical icon is an important typographical element b/c it will help the public recognize your name as one that ties to music, your product. 6 years ago I.D.ea Factory commented on #71 Bear with me, I am trying to get a few submissions in before the time. On this one I found a more southwestern font style, and added a bolder Treble Clef. I also joined the right side of the two arched lines to form sort of an enclosure around the name, the first treble clef forming the left border. I will try to get one submitted with a font that matched the initial Treble Clef so you have the options. 6 years ago I.D.ea Factory commented on #60 Makes total sense. I'll see what I can get together before time runs out on phase 2. Thanks for the feedback, it is very helpful. 6 years ago drcwreed commented on #60 This is a solid design, but I think it lacks a little in readability, perhaps just due to a somewhat compressed font. I like the use of the clefs they seem to me a bit distracting. That may just be because they are so different from the text font. If the lines in the font were more similar to the clefs, or if the clefs were stylized "S"s that looked like clefs without actually being clefs (if that makes sense), that might help. 6 years ago I.D.ea Factory commented on #46 Withdrawn thanks for the feedback as well. I like to provide the comments in case some of the subtle stuff doesn't come through initially, and also to open up the lines of communication which is the most important part of the logo building process. The logo is yours, not mine, so it has to speak to you and so the feedback is definitely necessary. Anything I can do to this one to make it work better I am willing to try, and upload the revised variations of it. Only the top 5 get to design in phase 2 so it's your chance to fine tune your top choices. 6 years ago drcwreed commented on #46 Withdrawn I appreciate the thought/comments you've provided. It helps. 6 years ago I.D.ea Factory commented on #43 Withdrawn The stealth bomber was sort of something I noticed after the design was put together, but definitely not a plan, but is a way to bring in a masculine element that is not a conscious element, maybe it appeals to men, and they don't really know why, ha! 6 years ago I.D.ea Factory commented on #44 Withdrawn Same as #46 but on a black background with the black text changed to white text. I think the rich black and red really pop against the white, making everything very clean, legible and memorable. I noticed the little icon also looks like a bouquet of flowers which is something you might give to singers after a great performance, so you could do the arrow in white and the sound wave in red, and then have bouquets like that at the shows to sort of visually tie them all in, and make the icon have a third element besides the SW direction and sound element. 6 years ago I.D.ea Factory commented on #46 Withdrawn The icon on this one is a map arrow or direction arrow pointing SW and in the 90 degree angle on the back of the arrow fits the little sound waves so both 'Southwest' and 'Sound' are brought in in the elements within the icon to where the icon can be used by itself to represent the brand, like it could be used embroidered on the little handkerchiefs in the suit coat pockets, or on the bolo tie design at the top, a pin on the cowboy hat, cuff links, belt buckle design, etc. It can also be a different color if red does not represent the group in the best way. Blue, Silver, Gold, Grey, pretty much any color can go with the black and white as a secondary color. I used a condensed font so that the entire name could fit on one line and not extend too far horizontally, giving you a logo that fits nicely on most layouts it will be used on. I can make 'Sound' a different color as well, even if a medium to dark grey to help it stand apart more from 'Southwest' since I did not space them apart, but used the capital S on Sound to be the separator between them. The red bar under the name extends from the outside of the first 'U' to the outside of the second 'U' to bring a subtle balance and hint that both words start with 'Sou', almost making the U like bookends on a red shelf and the red bar also compliments the red arrow, bringing a color balance throughout as well. 6 years ago drcwreed commented on #43 Withdrawn Thanks. I actually saw most of that imagery at first glance: all but the stealth bomber. 6 years ago I.D.ea Factory commented on #47 Withdrawn Same as #43 but with red replacing the blue as the secondary color and the logo being against the dark background instead of white. All the black elements were switched to white on this one, stayed with the Grey as the other secondary color. It is still masculine enough but a little more middle ground as far as masculine and feminine to reach all ages and sexes. 6 years ago I.D.ea Factory commented on #43 Withdrawn The icon on this one is supposed to be the music bars moving towards the viewer in the shape of the 'S' and ultimately heading Southwest with the arrow shape. I added the Treble Clef so in effect you would have two S's in the icon for the Southwest and the Sound. I used masculine blue, black and grey on this one. You can almost imagine a Stealth Bomber shape in the arrow moving smoothly and breaking the 'Sound' barrier. 6 years ago I.D.ea Factory commented on #45 Same as #42 but with the black and the white inverted, everything that was white on the other is black on this one, and vice versa. The highest contrast being between the name and the background makes your name pop on both very well too. The red helps make the star pop on both as well and it is one more item on the logo that starts with the letter 'S'. 6 years ago I.D.ea Factory commented on #42 Withdrawn I took one of the samples you used on your brief as far as lines and arch shape, and used a condensed font so both words would fit on one line, allowing the slogan to sit underneath. I used the Treble Clef as the S's on both words, helping separate them visually and making them easily read as the two separate words. For the icon above the typographic mark I used the "lone star" marking Ft. Worth on the shape of Texas. I brought in blue for Masculinity and to compliment the red like on the Texas flag. I also submitted a version on a black background so you can see it both ways. 6 years ago
