What We Do
Scrapjazz is a website for scrapbookers with free resources, forums, a gallery and an online store with scrapbooking supplies (lots of pretty paper).

Logo can be Scrapjazz or Scrapjazz.com
Industry
Home & Garden
Color Preferences
We are open to any color scheme. It needs to be feminine and artistic.
Here are some great color schemes and combos:
http://www.1stwebdesigner.com/resources/color-palettes-swatches/

Our favorites are: 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 18, 20, 24, 28, 36, 40, 47, 68, 77, 84
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We don't want it to have any reference to "music" at all. The "jazz" in the name signifies "playful, improvisation, and artistic - - not music. Anything with music notes or such references will not be considered. We want to focus on scrapbooking, playful improvisation, art and beauty.
If you are unfamiliar with scrapbooking, you probably should learn a bit about it. Check out some scrapbook pages here:
http://scrapjazz.com/gallery/?type=layout&page=1&vote=0&f=1

We have a site at http://www.scrapjazz.com but it is going to be redesigned once the logo is done. So you do not have to take the site design into account at all, or the old logo when creating the new.

We are looking for feminine and elegant above all.
It could be a lettermark... (a combo or fusion of the S and the J somehow).

Discussion

Hi everyone. Make sure to get a little bit familiar with scrapbooking before posting logos. You can learn about it and see some pages at our site: http://www.scrapjazz.com
Samples of scrapbook pages at: http://www.scrapjazz.com/gallery/
Feminine and artistic. That's the key.

Some nice ideas. I like to see 1, 2, or 3 colors total. Preferably two colors.
Not several in the same design. Sorry if that wasn't clear from the brief.
We're also looking for something more feminine -- so something flowing or more script like.
Thanks for the ideas!

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

Thanks for the info Nancy.
I thought it might be helpful if I gave some additional info. I've updated the contest brief. As part of the update, I changed the color area to have more details and provided some color pallet options.
We are open to any color scheme. It needs to be feminine and artistic.
Here are some great color schemes and combos that we like. If you stick to one of these you'll be sure to find something that we will identify with and like:

Try and stay away from scissors. They are used (a little bit) in scrapbooking but it's a bit cliche and does not work for the feel we want. We want something more abstract. Flowers, shapes, fonts are all OK. A combo of the SJ letters would be great. But scissors won't work for this project. Thanks! :)

We still haven't found anything that we completely love yet. The contest only has a few hours left. We encourage everyone to submit their final designs ASAP.
Thanks
