Discussion

#26 - I missed that it was a pencil inside the "H" - but it's a good design concept. Any way to make the pencil tip be the dot of the "i" in "pencil"?

I thought the same thing but it maybe tricky, I'll give it a go.

#29

It works okay, I like the font used for "ruthless" but with the word Pencil offset to the left the script font is a wee bit to weak for this layout. It works fine with the other layouts. I'll try strengthening or change the font

Great idea to use a tag line so the "i" has the pencil tip...
Let's try the tag line: "writing/on design/by design"
I also still like #25, #27, and #28. Maybe pick your favorite of those three and add the tag line? Thanks!

#70 is one more idea I'll keep hidden until top 5

Clever! #69, #90, use the title "The Ruthless Pencil" instead of just "Ruthless Pencil"

#95 is interesting though a more refined version rather than hand drawn may look better again this one is a WIP as well

Is a stylized phoenix rising from the pencil shreds, symbolizing a new chapter in your clients lives. The wings are the pencil shavings.

I love this pencil sharpener!

I can't decide between the fonts of #93 and #94; #93 is more my personality (girly and fun), but I teach at the Fashion Institute of Technology, so my students write with draftsmen letters, more like #94....so, I'm still deciding.

Let's use a different tag line for #93 and #94: "Find your story. Tell your story." Use your design judgment to decide whether to capitalize "Find" and "Tell."

Thanks!

I can envisions your students animating this design and have the sharpener grinding down the pencil...it could be used for website or Power Point presentation intro etc.

I don't mind the font for the tag line, "find your story...tell your story" but is there something with a little more zip? You may have picked the plain font so it didn't compete with the rest of the design, and that's ok. Thanks.

You are correct, the tagline should never over power the main text. but I will find a zippy font

Thanks for the refinement...I like #126 a lot, and I still like #107. I love your idea of having my FIT students animate the pencil sharpener for a Powerpoint presentation -- great idea! I am going to pick a winner tomorrow. Thanks again.
