on another note...please remember I am the first designer to implement the typeface layout for this contest. and it is expected and not a surprise that designers will copy highly ranked designs...it's unfortunate scenario..If you would like to see any revision to my designs just let me know
and now for something completely different..while editing the original icon a very cool discovery was found that if I place a single arc above and below the text it creates lips....so we now have WRMN on the lips which is infact your audience.
I like what you're doing very much. However, to move all of your submissions up you need to correct the "Am" radio to "AM". In radio language AM is always listed with both letters uppercase. The way you have them, uppercase A and lowercase m makes the logo totally unusable.
Entries # 95, 119 & 120 are especially good.
We have a concern about how any of these might appear in black and white (we'll be using a B&W repro on a lot of forms). Another major concern is whether or not the "News Talk" over Radio will render when reduced to a smaller size. Will it be readable??
A solution might be breaking it up into three lines . . . WRMN AM1410 News-Talk Radio
I love the latest . . . except for the reversed 1410 . . . the solid block somehow just stops the panel when they see it. We all think this one is clean, corporate looking and with the "AM" fix very, very close to being our #1. I believe a treatment of the AM and 1410 can be done that will make that look great without the reversing/solid rectangle.
The reason we're sticking with Reflex Blue is we have another radio company we often co-promote with WRMN and want to stay in that color family. If you are our winner . . . could we work with you directly to update the other radio company's logo? That would make sense so that there would be a similar look and feel . . . ??
I've changed up the typeface for this version and repositioned the elements as you can see by placing the 'news-talk radio" between the Call Letters and Station frequency we have a more balanced design plus the icon also fits much better than in the original.
If you prefer the original type face no problem the alignment still works with this no matter what font is used.
